I was originally going to title this thread “lack of traits for gadgets” but then I realized that this problem is pretty much universal within all the classes. You guys could complain about rankings, ladders and all that but all I want in this game is more variety in how I can play my class.

But this is being held back for the following reasons:
1) Cluttered traits that should be combined with another trait
2) Awkward placement of the traits
3) Useless traits (Best example : Acidic Elixirs)
4) Not enough traits (For example, gadgets only have a cooldown reducing trait yet still too high of CD for them to be worth taking)

Traits are disappointing to me in general.

There are awesome ones that actually change how you play, but they are few and far between. I think a lot of the steal-centric traits on thief are a good example of this like bountiful theft or the one that recharges 1 type of utility

most traits are just generic DO MORE DMG WITH SWORDS BUT NOT ENOUGH TO FEEL USEFUL. The worst offender of this is the elementalist, specifically the fire line. They just feel so uninteresting.

i think the first 4 is the real problem.
You dont need a lot of traits, some just need combined (which they have done to a degree)
some are worthless (they did change some of them)
and some are awkwardly placed (havent seen them really address that much but i dont play every profession religiously).
Though gadgets only having one master trait effecting them directly unlike potions having like 5-6? Is a problem, i dont think its lack of traits…as much as it is too many traits for one thing (potions), while neglecting another (gadgets). Which might tie into why gadgets are seldom used, and everyone uses potions.

Its all true, and i’m sure they know….one i’m most concerned about is placement of traits.

There are definitly situations where an obvious play style is being considered by where traits are alocated, but sometimes for that play style to be valid you need multiple traits that are all shoved into the same trait line, where on other professions (lets say gaurdian and spirit weapons) they’re carefully spread out so you can ensure every one of your master traits is geared towards your play style.
