This pvp is complete garbage. There are no prompts as to what your enemy is doing or prepping, so no thought goes into smashing out a predetermined series of keyboard button rotation that works best with your buddies standing near you. The only decisions I think I’m making are when to evade roll away. Boring.

But seriously, all random skills have an animation, so when you’re playing in a 3v3 for example is one big mess.
So yeah your statement is quite correct.

Make all skills that are worth dodging have a visual animation. While damage and “not so important skills” have just the sword swing animation.

For example the mesmer Moa skill has no long and visual animation, besides its one big mess of mesmer animations of normal random skills. So you wouldn’t even be able to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CtBwm9-YhU#!

Also: Interrupts were very important in GW1, but due to latency Anet wanted to keep these out of importance as far as I know.

this game need lor of rework to have any good sPvP.

exist lot of animation, anything more than 2vs2 is a giant mess where you cant see almost anything with so many animations (pro player obvious will gonna say they can see all single animation because you know they are PROS).

the only class is good in terms of animation is the warrior, is fun play against warrior because if you are good you will avoid is powerfull atacks and is one of the reason why warrior right now are one of weakest class in game, not because have low dps ( they have great dps even without 100b) but because skill animation are obvious.

ele are a huge mess of kitten appear on you screen, fire everywhere and other craps, most of them you dont even need worrie much but for some reason everything on ele need have big animation, RtL have great animation because is the start of ele burst combo the rest is exaggerated.

mesmer another big mess, probably the worst of all classes, im a MESMER and i know very well how batle fields is full of useless animation, if you put 2 mesmers shatter with MI that is a BIG mess.
crap null field (no one need worrie much about it) have the same animation of chaos storm something that is powerfull.
the open burst combo that is the iLeap have a crap animation, most of time with lot of clones around you dont even see the iLeap coming, and if it cast close to you you cant do nothing to counter it because you cant see it coming.

thief on other hand lack animations!!!!!!!

rangers everything is the same and you have those insane evade atacks on sword/dagger in very low CD. everything look the same, between evades and random dodge where you dont need any player skill you are will avoid lot of damage, not because you are good but because game give you the tools to avoid easy the atacks

happen the same with thiuef with DB, between random dodges and spam DB they are invulnerable for long time withou need any player skill

why do you think spvp is dying? this game is more about coordination than player skill, isnt fun to watch

when i say this need game lot of work inst just in terms of balancing issues, is MUCH MUCH more than that, but im pretty sure in february ultry hyped patch all we gonna see is custom servers ( dont care about them) and trying to balance classes (yap trying because clear this guys dont know very well what to do)

Players don’t cast skills randomly, but if they do, you have won already (unless you are as bad as they are). Dodge system is here to counter dangerous abilities, not auto attacks. Some of them are easy to dodge, and another ones are pretty much impossible without prediction skill.

I would post a video about two rogues dueling each other in WoW, dodging INSTANT CAST hard CC (abilities which just take ping delay to execute), but you wouldn’t even notice it, so… just believe me it is possible to dodge things without even seeing animations.

I don´t agree with Cpt obvious, if you get deeper into pvp it´s not about button smashing in the same order all the time, but more about saving ur important skills and using them at the correct time!
I think that the combat system of gw 2 is great and needs alot of skill to master certain classes.
I think the problem right now players seem to have is the absence of a rating system and the viability of certain classes and team comps.
