Guild Wars 2

My second or third match last Tuesday was against a 5 man guild team. Got bored of chills necro so I logged on my old school power wells Lich.

A DH and I contested far where they were triple-capping, lol. Then, after killing beast, 2 of their teammates ran back to help out.

It was 2v5 pretty much. DH laid his traps the same time as my wells followed by Chillblains and Reapers Mark

Our HP bar was running low so I resorted to Lich form and positioned myself to maximize piercing. Within seconds their entire team was wiped and heavy laughing ensued.

I laughed so hard tears began to drip.

It wasn’t an experienced team and we ended up winning as if our 5 soloQ were the pre-made.

Fast forward to this evening. I saw one member of that team sporting a red icon.

FML. My main account still stuck in emerald.

Perhaps you’re clueless and haven’t been following what’s going on in NA right now.

People like you are getting farmed non-stop by top pro teams. They are keeping you from progressing.

Funny lich form used to be 30s and now it’s useless and replaced by Gravedigger.
I really don’t see a lot of GS power necros, I’m guessing all the aoe cc make them less viable

The EU hero strikes again!

With reaper around, people aren’t expecting some core skills to come into play.

I have always be fond of the old school power necro, so when I get bored of the current meta, play a power well necro. I have to say, those wells cause some wreck because they never see it coming, specially when go rez someone. Lich form is another nice surprise but, as stated, it pales and have a huge cooldown in comparison with gravedigger, even tho you can get a full party cleanse and boon corrupt.

GS power reaper works nice on stronghold but in conquest is a bit harder to pull off. With the amount of cc and conditions, the staff is needed for some control but with that you lose the mobility. Perhaps it is only my experience but I find it a bit easier to run dagger/warhorn and staff as power reaper. On the other hand, gs reaper is great in a group fight bringing the vulnerability, blindness, pull and gravedigger.

Personally I find the GS works best in cele builds with deathly chill so you can take advantage of the extra AoE chill and the high power coefficients. The only problem is that GS 5 isn’t unblockable and condi cleanse from staff is usually better. But with leadership runes, consume conditions, and plague sig it works well with cele.

For marauder i think staff and d/wh is jets because you want to maximize your time in shroud to cleave everything in teamfights so gravedigger spam isn’t needed.

Power necro was my first build, this was before the Dhuumfire buff, so it’s very dear to me even though it’s not that great in conquest, lol.

GS is a tricky thing because it can go full marauder but since deathly chill became DOT, it’s too good not to take. I swapped from marauder to viper/sinister. 2 out of 3 of my necro builds are currently under development and I’ll put more time on those once I graduate from emerald.

Haven’t really been following what’s going on in EU/NA pro scene except Helseth’s vid about duo/soloQ. Last time I faced an ESL team in NA was Thursday.

Pro teams don’t really bother me. What I’m not too happy about are lower MMR teams surging past me. I seriously want to scream “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” lol.

Haven’t really been following what’s going on in EU/NA pro scene except Helseth’s vid about duo/soloQ. Last time I faced an ESL team in NA was Thursday.

Umm, have you seen EU’s roster? What I’m saying is you’re stuck at emerald because of pro teams exploiting. If you were in EU, you’d be out of emerald by now.
