How does the PvP solo or team work? how does it do it’s “math”? How does it calculate your placement on it?!

I look around, didn’t see much of an explanation on it!

Your personal performance does not matter to the algorithm. 10 kill loss = 0 kill loss. Your rating is determined by win/loss vs team mmr averages.

The exact numbers anet uses are unknown.

I know it’s not by the amount of kills or death, by the win/lose. I still don’t understand, how in solo I have better win/lose than some people on the list yet I’m not on it, including my winning % is higher some people on that list. That’s what I don’t follow.

Not sure can only guess. I think it may have something to do with the average team rankings. Assuming that your team of uplevels wins against a team full of dragon finisher people you get more pts.

I wouldn’t take leaderboards too seriously, we can’t even see the actual mmr.

Well there are a few factors, like the quality of opponents you faced. When did you win your games? By that I mean did you only play one or two games a day? Or do you play 5+ games a day.

Players can have a really high % win rate but be low on the lb due to decay. Also someone could have a really low % win rate and be really high on the lb. After a really long losing streak they could have one great day with lots of wins and beat high rated player. This could put them very high up the leaderboard.

Leaderboard isn’t as bad a some people make it out to be. Sure some players near the top might not have many games played but as they continue playing there position will change depending on how well they do. If they continue winning there games they will stay at the top. Though if they start losing they will fall to where they are meant to be.

Getting to the top and holding a spot there is a totally different story. The system is far from perfect but it does work.

It’s all about the hidden MMR ratings of the people on the team you played against.

If they have high ratings, and your team WINS, then you go a lot higher on the leaderboard.
