It was nice to read that wins will matter over games played. However, by what basis can the leaderboard not be a grindfest if games played leads to accruing points by victories not lead back to it being a grindfest like the first test season?

I can answer these question for you:

1, It will still be a grindfest just SLIGHTLY less than before…but still yeh…a total grindfest.
2, The announcement basically said “we aren’t fixing leaderboard for at least another 3 months”
3, All they did was slightly change the leaderboards point system. Nothing else changed. It isn’t based on MMR. It is still the same.

The key is the accruing points. You need a system that somehow stabilizes after playing a lot of games. Points deducted from losses need to start to equal points from wins.

But yeah, I’d really like to know what’s changed.

Apparently, since justin doesn’t work for Arenanet, we wont get a response.

In general i don’t think it’s great to start a new season without knowing the new leaderboard rules.

I think they probably changed points for win/loses but it’s only a supposition.

Even if there might be a small shift (I’ve still won 1 LB point from a 500-3xx loss) on the scoring charts, making it easier to lose points when losing matches, leaderboards still look absolutely grind based.
