I wanted to ask about this, since I don’t understand the board, mmr and all of this very well. If it is not already accounted for, there should be reasonable credit reflected on the Leaderboard ranks given to those who even if they lose, are successful in their objectives in the match.

For example, always on top score, top defense of points, capping of points, kills, ressing teammates etc. I think this would soften the blow of players who understand RA and who play better than most for being punished on a team of players who don’t (or won’t).

What do you guys think? The idea of matches and black and white “win/loss” doesn’t truly reflect the skill and or contribution a player makes.

This is a bad idea.
Here’s an exaggeration of a common scenario:

One player is bunkering a point 1v2 for the entire match. He does not kill anyone, so does not get an points for bunkering this point, but has taken two enemy players out of the game while the rest of the team farms points across the map.

Yes this is exaggerated, but in a large majority of games in soloq you’ll have someone who actually defends points getting the least credit on the scoreboard and they don’t necessarily even get point defender since point defender requires you to actually kill someone.

You receive points for defending though. Also, any good player will adapt when he is losing so if he sees that they are avoiding his point he will rotate and assist on others points, thus getting more credit, if he is winning, no need to move as the win trumps all.

I am specifically speaking of losses only.

Think of it this way, if you have two players who only play as a team and they share every win and loss together. One player is constantly meeting his objectives, capping, defending, rotating properly etc. While the second player is chasing players around the map, generally messing around or not concerning himself with contributing to a win, both players will in theory be rated the same in skill.

Which player would you prefer on your team? Which player would you suggest is “better”? Shouldn’t this be reflected in these overall Leaderboard rankings?

You only get points towards objective defender if you actually kill someone while defending a point.

So if a player gets 5 points and runs around chasing players and ensures your team loses, that should not reflect at all in leaderboard?

Yup.

For the same reason another player could 1v2 and funnel the other team the entire game not scoring many points because he isn’t the one capping.

If the leaderboards where what you said we would hAve games of entirely just Nike warriors and theives.

The score system is only good to make jokes about and delude new players.

Apparently the jokes are soo good that it hasnt been yet removed (or drasticaly improved which isnt worth time).
