Yes yes! Vee Wee knows not to put too much faith into the leaderboards! But Vee Wee is just curious! How does it work! Vee Wee conducted an experiment today! Vee Wee had not played solo q for over a month because Vee Wee absolutely hates Skyhammer! Vee Wee was rank 91% and Vee Wee wanted to see what Vee Wee’s rank would be after one solo q loss! Well Vee Wee went in there and lost and ended up as rank 5! 91% to rank 5 after one loss! Wahoo! Vee Wee also noticed the person at rank 2! His record was 31 wins and 34 losses! What’s up with that!

It’s not about your win/loss, but who you beat. More points for beating higher rated teams, and lose more points for losing to lesser rated teams, and etc. As for playing one game and you bounce back to your original mmr spot, yeah I find that pretty unwise. Depending on how long you’re gone, your skill level probably won’t match that mmr.

I’m still not sure how it works. People talk about there being no decay and jumping up the leaderboards but when I stopped for a while I went from 400ish to 90% and it wont go any higher than 900 again.

From what I’ve understood your rating just freeze while the ladder rank decays only, the ‘real’ ladder could look something like this:

R%23 Player 1 2243pts (decay 23%/700pts)
R%27 Player 2 2203pts (decay 27%/750pts)
R1 Player 3 2183pts
R3 Player 4 2175pts (decay r3/2138pts)
R2 Player 5 2142pts

this text is shown ladder rank

When the inactive player plays one match, the decay gets removed, and they will get their normal rating. Even if you become rank 1 on the ladder it is likely that you don’t have the highest rating of all players.

If player 2 on this list plays one match he will get shown as rank 1 after being %27.

This could be because meanwhile you’ve been away the players at top 1000 have more rating than when you left, an example could be:

You when going inactive: 1600pts

When you go inactive ladder looks like this:
Players r400-500 1550pts
Players r500-600 1530pts
Players r600-700 1510pts
Players r700-800 1490pts
Players r800-900 1470pts

When you come back and you play a match your rating will become ~1600 again, now the values for each ‘bracket’ might be:

Players r400-500 1700pts
Players r500-600 1680pts
Players r600-700 1660pts
Players r700-800 1640pts
Players r800-900 1620pts

This can ofc go the other way aswell where you end up higher ranked after inactivity because the overall rating has decreased.

It creates toxic players. i get angry at the lower ranked players cus i expect them to play on my lvl. cus i expect to be matched with equal skilled people…. wrong

this creates the leavers/flamers/afkers and all other toxic stuff

this should be fixed or there is no fun playing soloQ for anyone. either you less skilled people in your team or you’re yelled at cus you got ranked with to higher skilled players
