Leaderboards...
I don’t think there is enough players for that, I can go from playing players from the top teams in NA to playing people who just got the game in a matter of 5 matches.

If you only gain a point for winning and lose a point for losing, everyone will be sorted by their win percentage. This means anyone with <50% win rate would never advance. (Unless I misunderstood you)
This is one reason we have the odds-of-winning based point matrix to ensure even matches help you climb, and you don’t fall for uneven matches.
Bra (80 Guard), Fixie Bow (80 Ranger), Wcharr (80 Ele)
Xdragonshadowninjax (80 Thief)
My experience though means I still have to play a huge amount of games to be on the leaderboard. I might have a 60% win percentage (I don’t right now, but I’ve had one before), but because I only play 3-5 games a day I’m never going to get higher than the person who plays 10- 20 games because they will play enough to get more points in the end. The leaderboard sorts amount of time spent and not skill. Even if the OP’s idea put everyone at 50% it would be better than the current system. Just my opinion.

It could be a good bit better now they fixed a pretty big bug but unfortunately people grinded for a week and they didn’t reset the leaderboard. Playing 8 million games a week and breaking even or doing slightly worse then even I don’t think would propel you to the top like it did before.

Doesn’t a MMR-based leaderboard effectively accomplish this same goal? And ideally, wouldn’t uneven matches be an anomaly rather than something to design a system around?
Basically, what does this system accomplish that MMR-based leaderboards did not?
