This is only a temporary list. They’re working on an Elo/rating system as we speak, but of course Custom Games come first.
Nearly every competitive game tends to release related information before their rating systems are finalized.
League did it, Smite, probably a lot more I can’t think of.

Its not the list itself, its what the list shows. The points are skewed towards 4 or 5 teams, meaning that paid tournaments are not working as intended.

everyone understeand this is temporary solution to show at least “something” but in this case, better not show at all.

And till now we didnt get any answer on how and WHEN it will be fixed.

This ladderboard is only showing that:
- there is only few teams playing paid tournaments and thats also explain the QUEUE times which are getting really terrible (well, yesterday i was quite supprised as it worked well but in general its too long)
- most of organized teams are still in FREE tournaments. making pugging almost impossible.

Sry for my poor English, I’m rank1 on the EU, and i think that they should’ve not made this ladder, it’s a bad joke, as you can see only few teams are playing PT, casual teams have almost 0 chances to win.

The QP’s ladder shows that Anet made a poor decision… i knew from BWE2 that the tournament system was a bad idea, the concept behind it it’s bad, and you can’t do much about it.

They wanted to be different for the sake of being different, and that’s bad. I know that it’s easy to complain, so now i’m gonna explain how they could’ve done better, with less effort.

3 Queues:

a) hot join, 5v5, unranked
b) soloQ, ranked
c) premadeQ, ranked

2 ladders:

a) soloQ ladder, reset once a year
b) premadeQ ladder, reset every 1-2 month/s

1 tournament:

a) A monthly tournament, where the top X teams of the premade ladder are invited to play.

This tournament system was a kitten nightmare, so many bugs, so much time spent coding for nothing, so much effort for have a bad format. They wanted to be different, and they just ended up doing something overly complicated.

If they were coding a simple elo system and not tournaments, we would be playing with ladders, private servers and ratings already.

Great Post. I would like to add that this system is very similar to league of legend’s system and it works extremely well. League of Legends is currently the #1 Esport in the world and having a simple but effective system really helps drive it’s success.

Consider this, at the prime time you will always meet at least one good team you have to beat, if you dont beat them you lose -> no QP. But I agree playing very late and long can help you evading meeting the good teams, but still winning just for like 2-3 hours is not long enough to get, lets say 40 QP. Seeing the names on the ladders I tend to say those guys are actually pretty good, otherwise they wouldn’t be there.
Though it may even look like SS has played a kittenload more games compared to other teams, doesn’t mean they are bad, just practice a lot. But it also doesn’t mean they are twice as good as CN or teams like that either, just because they have twice as much QP.

the QP system is flawed. Simply for the fact that those who buy or GET the game at x-mas will have to do so much catch up that it will almost be impossible for them to get the QP needed to get on the Leader boards… how is that fair to a newcomer. You don’t see LoL doing it that way. YOU THINK Anet woulda thought about this b4 making QP the standard for leaderboards… Flawed is flawed no matter how you look at it, the system in place is broken.

He most likely meant “played more” as in “played more games on Guild Wars 2”, not “paid tournies”. It’s not like any team can play more paid tournies than another when they are available only 6h a day at best =)

Look, I can deal with your lack of social skills ingame, I can deal with the fact that you don’t realize that AoE is the meta, I can deal with a lot of things. However, I can’t deal with straight lies such as these.

Unlike you lucky boy, we have 2 players in our main team who have a terrible French ISP and lag until 10pm, sometimes 11pm. Therefore, we play mixed teams with people that we usually don’t play with, with whom we don’t use our usual comps and strats (well, we actually try to but it implies alts and stuff, whatever) and gathering people results in us usually queuing ~20-30min after the first tournament started. Why would we dodge teams against which we have ~80% winrate even with improvized mixed groups (the statement may not hold true for onibawan those last 2 days though)?

Yes, your team has around 70% winrate against us. Yes, there are reasons why it is so, but I won’t bother talking about stuff you know and are afraid to admit. However, I can give you a nice info as to why CN does not have at least 95% winrate against us. It’s very simple: you. You must be a really close friend of theirs for them to put up with your subpar level. They’d be surprised to know what you think of them… Well, good for you anyway!

Don’t blame me, you know you started it. I’m done with your passive/agressive attitude. If it were someone else from you team, I’d be able to understand it. However, it’s not the kind of attitude a guy who’s beeing carried should have.

First of all, thief that you actively use is the meta. With Svanir runes, Air Runes, res pot and mesmer play. And some other minors things. You abuse everything that is broken, yet you dare to open your mouth. You’re the only who’s afraid to admit that despite the fact that you play WAY more than any other team and use all the op stuff, your team is still considered mediocre. And there is also a reason for that. And it’s very simple: you. I can’t recall the amount of times we witnessed your poor thief gameplay and had good laugh in teamspeak. Thank you for that.
You trialed some of the people I know. And they actually refused to play with you any longer. Because of your terrible attitude and ego. “Lowell blames other people when he’s the one making mistakes. Cba to play with this guy, he’s actually bad”. That is what hear from people who used to play with you.
Secondly, about this “being carried” stuff: I am not even going to reply, because my team and I know how good my guardian is and this team was formed by very high-skilled players to dominate the guildwars2 pvp scene. I didn’t even know those lads 1 month ago.
So, keep telling yourself whatever you want if it makes you feel better, but at the end of the day we both know the truth.

I have been quite irritated about the fact so little is said about this issue. Yes, you call it “meta”, I call it a problem, and what’s worse is that the teams running massive AoE don’t even realize how much of their success is solely based on a fundamental flaw in the current mechanics.

A point capture modus in a non-archetype restricted game with a more than questionable “healing” mechanism (i.e. everybody can revive and a downed player is a perfect point of reference for AoEs), any developer would have to realize that AoE abilities need to be balanced very carefully.

Same goes for CC in a game without immunity timers. How could anybody think having classes with an arsenal of CC and area denial abilities be fine, when there are several classes who have no reasonable access to stability? If this wasn’t 5v5 on a 3 to 5 point capture map, I could somehow wrap my head around it, but given the system 2v2 and 1v1s are anything but rare, so no, I really can’t.

You are a funny guy really. How come that your backside is not jealous about all the trash you are talking about?
Oh and yeah I am someone else from the team so you can accept the fact that you are absolutely not in a position to judge Naito’s skill when what we can hear in every game is that you are crying about our comp eventough you tried hundreds of setups (even swapped classes during the game) to counter us and of course you used thief all the time only as other classes are too easy for you… cough cough…
