Leaderboards and Decay
Decay being permanent after one month of not playing would already be enough for me.

Real problem is also ppl evading dacay playing once every like 2 days in odd hours being able to keep their rank without playing against something at their level. Ppl can’t stay top 100 if they only win against 3-4 am pugs. If someone wanna stay top 100 they must win and keep winning against all other top 100 teams otherwise they must go down…atm if you’re top ladder or you know you can’t get higher than you are you can just que up in odd hours staying there pretty much forever with almost no effort…atm once you get there it’s done, but being top ladder should be something you must fight for everyday not just a couple of matches and then disappear from prime times.

So you’re basicly asking for permanent decay :<

I’m totally against the decay we have now.
I’d like a leaderboard in which is much harder to reach top 1000.
And at the same time, it should be much harder to decay beyond top 1000. It’s not like once you have proven to be a top player (let’s say top 25) and you don’t play for 3 months you become a complete newbe like these leaderboards imply.

Nah not permanent…right now if you are 300 you won’t go100 just winning one match against a top 100 team anyway….with what i’m saying you will go back to 100 if you got decay to 300 but you first need to win just one match vs a 150 or better team…still a huge difference from those who are 300 and those who just got decay to 300..but at least they’ll have to prove to belong to their old position first…high ladder ppl stomping pugs at odd hours avoiding playing against each other it’s a huge problem and for sure another thing that makes those ladder completely worthless, it’s like on soccer everyone just sitting on top just playing against amateur teams…beating amateurs should not allow someone to stay on high ranks

Problem is that when you get back you can now win just one match against anyone and you will be back to top 25 even if you go pug at 4 am and kill some randoms not even on ladder…then you can leave pvp for another 3 months rinse and repeat
Instead of being cynical, this idea was proposed more than 1 year ago, while we all wait on ladder hype. Direct quote: The final stage of our rewards overhaul will be ladders. Players will be divided into divisions and will earn points for playing to work their way up the ladder. At the end of a season, players will earn PvP-specific rewards both for their ladder standings and for their level of participation. Ladders will replace existing leaderboards." announced on December 2, 2013. Being more cynical, the timeline is even further behind, giving the devs more room to put in tooltip balances and skill changes which have been worked on for the past 3 times over in the course of this year.
Ultimately, this post gets deleted by kitten mods, or actual anet staff can’t reply to this due to upper management that is incompetent to put resources into pvp while almost 60% of gw1 devs left gw2 dev team.
