So I have been wandering what is driving people to climb up of it? In other games I have played you usually grind it pvp exclusive armor not skins, unique gear, special pve bonuses and bonus titles. In GW2 it seems for fun while some take it very seriously…So what is driving you to do ranked and attempt to climb especially with the current issues in MMR,ranked vs unranked, team comps etc.?

The system seems always flaw to me in any mmos, you either have OP gear or high reward/low risk builds those two factors I always see used by those who care about LB. In C9 people usually just organize their own tournaments,the devs support it with rewards and control what’s allowed(gear and bonuses only) instead of the LB system where anything is allowed, it’s not in it’s best state right now but it’s better than the uncontrolled grinding we have now.

Edit: You usually stack the best class/spec to farm LB and call your self good.

what does leaderboard rank mean?

Step 1 – Go to your local bar or if your underage your local hangout.
Step 2 – Proceed to approach attractive females and in a sauve tone tell them how you are rank x on the gw2 leaderboard.

you gain a point if you get her number after making that statement, double is she takes you home immeditely. At the end up the night total your points which in turn wil show you how important the leaderboards are
