A lot of the posts here are… somewhat critical… so I just wanted to say that, for me, the league has been a lot of fun.

In about 130 games (nearly all solo), I went from no ranked experience up to ruby. There were a couple blowout games and a couple of times where people were jerks, but far and away, the experience was positive. This is now my favorite game mode.

Thanks to Anet for putting this in the game, and thanks to everyone who gave me advice and help along the way.

This is why you had fun, OP. You had 0 mmr which should have happend to everyone but Anet “forgot” to do it. The system assumed you are new and paired you with new/unexperienced players. People with high mmr on other hand either were forced to cheat or forced into 50% los ratio by lovely mmr system.

Don’t worry he is ruby now his low mmr will catch up to him there. I was in the same boat wvw roamer for ever turned pvp player. I know my classes but I have little exp in ranked… I had a pretty smooth time on the way up but ruby is just a toxic kittenhole.

Actually a reset gives you an exact middle-range MMR and the lowest possible “confidence” level that your MMR is accurate.

That means that your MMR swings wildly and gives you blowouts both for and against you much more often than should happen.

I returned to GW2 just for leagues and I’m having a blast, go figure. 70 games in, had no DC, no afkers, qued into a full premade like twice and when I que with a few guildies we always, 100% of the time have a premade in the opposing team aswell so pretty happy with it so far.

Almost 2 weeks in ruby now, getting faced with ESL players/ premades since sapphire.

Anet is big on RNG. RNG dictates that even when most will be negatively affected by a bad system, some will have the opposite experience.

Grats on a lucky roll! Only 130 games to Ruby, as solo, well done. You should buy a lotto ticket.

It’s because you’re tier 2 XD trust me, I almost never get into a match where there’s not trash talking in the Ruby division, sometimes it starts before the match even begins. It gets so bad I just turn off the chats completely. Good luck :P
