League rank does not indicate to your ability as a player in this game. It indicates how often you play as part of a solid pre-made team. It was designed to be symbolic of the rank of a team and yet it is used as a merit badge for individual players.

The end result is the solo queuers and partial premade players who queue get a bad deal and the premades are often fed groups that are essentially free wins in the lower divisions.

They should have stuck to the plan to make League player all about guild teams and nothing else. That would have given people incentive to commit to teams and put everyone on equal ground but no… Instead we get the solo queue, partial premade, full premade, guild team “melting pot” queue the deludes the true rank of everyone and makes the whole system pointless for anyone who’s not in Diamond or above.

What’s more, the current bunker fest/cc to death train wreck is what wins in most scenarios so teams running that have huge advantage. That’s not about skill, that’s more about knowing what’s OP an during it to steam roll other teams. When you steam roll a dozen teams with good player just because you understand winning build mechanics that are grossly OP do you think you rank is really worth anything?

When I see higher league divisions icon beside someones name I don’t think “there’s a great pvp player” I think “there’s a player who’s learned to manipulate the system and has put the time in to get the rank”. So sad.
