Learn from CS:GO(The last one went so well)
1. The name of the person being spectated is already highlighted at the top left or right of the screen. Kill count is a useless statistic in GW2. Its so easy to tag someone or safestomp to get a kill without contributing much to a team fight. Weapons are easily discernible.
Death count is pretty significant. A banner with runes, sigils, trait families, and also amulet would be a welcome addition if it was tastefully done.
2. Good idea.
3. Your best idea. Would allow for more skill rotation analysis (which for some reason doesnt exist.)
4. This is true. Even though they saw the build 14 times in NA, they should have explained it in-depth at least once. By now they should be familiar with it and its rotations.
5. Your worst idea. It contradicts the title of your post, OP. That system would reward unskillful gameplay.
It would also be nice if spectators had access to the death breakdown.
It’s super silly to relate GW2 to CS:GO. CS:GO has great spectator UI, but the reason that its fun to watch is that it relies heavily on coordinated multi-faceted strategies, pin point precision, improvisation, and the occasional heroic god-like feat by players. GW2 will never be on that competitive level.
I appreciate your input. My reasoning for the last item on the list is that conquest lacks the edge-of your-seat moments, with the exception of 8:30 on TotSS and the fighting for middle buff, or going for a game-saving lord kill, and lord kills are usually never gone for becaus of the current meta. If you guys have better ideas to add tension I’d love to hear them
