Hi,

I think leaving tournaments just because the match might result in a loss, should have consequences for the leaving players.
I think something like being barred from joining sPvP for at least 30 Minutes (maybe cumulative for each leaving?) on their next queue opening and/or losing like up to 50% of their rank progress each time they leave and the team they left loses would be quite appropriate.
Idling in the base should be treated with a reminder after 15 seconds, and if the player is idling for more than a minute it should be treated the same as leaving, if the team loses (due to this).

I know, it may be inconvenient if there was a connection issue, but more often than not the player leaving was just a whiner who can’t stand honorable losses. I myself like to play with a team that at least tries to fight, even if the situation is dire. And it’s simple as that: If you can’t lose, don’t play.

was this discussed in the sotg? im guessing it’s just a result of their fail system that they dont want to change and/or dont have resources to fix even though a deserter debuff should have been in at release.

I think that the re-design of the free and paid tourney system (that we seem to be in the middle of right now) will hopefully address this problem. For example, I’d expect to see fewer leavers from a single, ranked match that pops instantly, than the current system.

if leaving doesn’t give you a loss it will only increase

I take that this suggestion is for the upcoming solo queue thing? Because right now it doesn’t even matter.

Uh…. Idk how that’s punishment if no one can see elo. Hell it would make things even worse for the lower brackets because they’d have to be matched with these guys who might be a higher skill level than them.

If match makeing is working as its ment to this will eventualy sort itself out.
Thing is for match makeing to work it needs to get data from the pleyers the only why it can get that data is if people play.

This is why all games that first come out that use match makeing start out with matchs that kinda suck with people that suck.

Evantualy though it gets better que times get faster and you matched with people that often play on your level

we need some harsher penalties for leavers, just having one loss is not enough
something like “after 5-10 leaves, you’re banned from solo queue for 24h”, or a block list that players can use to block leavers, so they don’t get matched up with them
stuff like that :P

I think the general consensus in the pvp community is that hotjoins need to be removed completely, or altered in a way that supports tpvp, not a kittenfest of button smashing and zerg rolling 8v8.

Maybe when they realise they should tell average spvp player that if he closes his game he doesnt automatically get out of the roaster..

Ya this is still an issue for when I solo que in free’s. Yes it could be the wait but in the evenings there isnt really much of a wait, no excuse.

Anyhow they had a system in GW1 for penalizing leaver or no shows AKA 15 mins of no PvP for you. Increase it if they are a repeat offender.
