Legacy of Foefire Unplayable/Lag
Yeah, I had huge lag on that map today as well.
I just wanted to add i’ve also experienced quite a bit of lag on this map tonight / earlier today. Most of the people in the legacy of foefire also confirmed they experienced lagging or DCing.
(Im not trying to complain, but i’m not sure the devs were aware of the lag).

Gonna confirm that Legacy of the Foefire is causing lag spikes for a ton of players in solo queue tPvP.

Last night I and a couple teammates were getting lag in other maps as well as in hotjoin. Thinking back, Foefire was the only map in which I was seeing regular DC’s, though. That was in solo queue.

Speak of the devil, I was just thinking about last night’s pvp sessions and this happened too. I can confirm that it’s not just solo queue, last night I was doing my daily quickly and I believe every single player in that match was consistently stating they had huge lag spikes, myself included.
In the end, I crashes right as my team was about to win. That was the last match I needed to finish the daily and still got it regardless.
Promptly stopped after because I didn’t want to play with a laggy connection but everywhere else I didn’t have lag, so I did PVE lmao. The lag only happened in foefire for me. Before reset up until I finished my daily I did about 10 games and it was only foefire that was laggy.

Seems to have something to do with yesterday’s patch.
Everything was working fine before the patch, but after the lag spikes and disconnects started.
I play NA Region.
It seems to be most prevalent on Foefire, but I saw it on Forest as well.
Seems to happen in Hot Join as well as Solo Que. I would imagine it happens in Teams as well, but cannot confirm myself.
Just saw the “which region?” edit. NA for me.

For the record this is one of my fav maps and I played it more then 15 times yesterday and did not have any of the issues with lag that you all are describing. However I have has an issue with signets on my thief in just about every map. The signets all have a passive ability that runs until you actually use the ability. The passive ability is not working for me. Bad thing is the tickets in game require me to screen shot it and stop what Im doing to submit. I hate losing so I can’t ever figure out a time to submit it because Im in the middle of a match. but no lag for me.

Make sure we let it be known it is also causing Gw2 to crash completely. When you come back, is when the 15-30 seconds of freezing and rubberbanding begin. Region is NA. ONLY happening in Foefire for me, and would be nice to have it disabled from the rotation temporarily

I am getting horrendous lag across skyhammer, spirit watch. Minor lag on other maps. EU region.
Not sure if these are related but I didn’t have lag yesterday. This is 1 second drop outs of service completely. Been going on for hours. Game is un-playable in this state.

Well…you know, when it’s ready. Apparently the only thing this applies to is buggy patches.
I was getting very bad lag on Forest of Niflhel earlier today, solo queue EU.
I had horrible lag today in all pvp maps. EU region. I played them all at least 2 times and as a SD thief I couldn’t mostly even connect enemies as pathing was completely incorrect. Much like in WWW during ZvZ fights.

Speaking for myself and our whole guild group of 5-6 on voice chat last night (8pm-12am Eastern)…
- Foefire only
- Team queue tPvP and hotjoin sPvP (Didn’t try solo queue tPvP)

Just to reiterate: this wasn’t “slight annoyance” lag of 1-2 seconds.
We’re talking game-breaking, completely unplayable lag. People being locked up for 10, 20, 30+ seconds. Abilities not firing, not firing, not firing… then all blowing at once. Watching allies, opponents and pets running directly into walls or disappearing off into the sunset. Standing completely alone on a point without a single enemy in visual range, then finding yourself instantly dead 20 seconds later when the lag spike ended.
Further info:
- It wasn’t hitting everybody equally in any given match. 2 or 3 team members might be completely locked up (20s lag spike, then 3-4s of mobility, then another 20s+ lag spike, rinse repeat) while 2 or 3 people might be getting only minimal lag spikes.(“Minimal”, in this case, being intermittent 2-4s spikes probably every 8-15s.)
- People were lagging out to the point of getting disconnected. Each member of our guild group was DC’d at least once on Foefire last night, some of us several times. Only on Foefire.
- Different people were affected to different degrees at different times. It wasn’t the case that the same people were consistently getting the bad “lockup” lag; it varied from match to match. (And it sometimes improved after a DC and reconnection to the same match.)
- Opposing teams noted the same match problems in tPvP map chat.
That covers everything I can think of…

So far I have only had this experienced on Foefire, and yes it was on NA, I am not sure if it is happening on EU to (I would imagine so). This is definitely happening in Team Queues as well, I was in TS3, with a team when they were say how much they were lagging on Foefire, and again on the next map they played against another team, that was lagging just as bad.
It seemed weirdly enough that the Red team gets the worst end of the lag, and blue gets effected later in the match.

This MOSTLY happens on Foefire, but today it also happened to me and both teams finally disconnected from the Khylo map. The server gave a message that it was down and we couldn’t get back into the match although we were in The Mists.
A couple minutes later we all re-connected on both teams, and the server restarted the match.
The code that popped up when we tried to get back in is at the top.

same, have not been able to have a good duel today thanks to the massive lagg spikes and the disconnects on middle of duels.
I was getting moderate lag spikes (and I almost never lag) on Foefire soloq EU today. At the same time another dude from my team said it was unplayable and just sit in the middle.
Fwiw I get massive unplayable lag on ALL maps. This then clears up COMPLETELY after the match has been running about 3-7 minutes (it varies). By that time I have lost though of course. Sucks for all concerned.

For me it’s only Foe fire, I play NA and I’ve only done hot joins recently… But my friend claims it’s in solo que as well, neither of us have done team que since this bug.

Yes, this is exactly what I experienced in solo queue and hotjoin. I did team on other maps and it was fine. There may have been some slight lag on other maps in hotjoin, but not to the extent of Foefire (also NA region).
Just had my first crash in hotjoin the second Foefire loaded.. it will probably help going back to the mists the second skyhammer ends

Yea this game is laggy and I’m getting choppy FPS everywhere. I came to this game because my computer used to run fast and load areas quick. It’s getting bad now. I don’t know what you guys are doing to make this game run worse and worse every patch but I’d wish you’d stop.

Possibly, the WvW crowd was also reporting massive spikes so this probably doesn’t have anything to do with a PvP update.

Its weird its just happened to me today. I cannot even play the game. Even in the mists i get horrible spikes. I think i may be done with this game for awhile now.

The devs test the game with 0-1 ping only and thats different to what everyone else gets so they dont get lag issues
On Foefire, usually about 3 out of the 10 DC completely out of the match.
Others experience terrible lad and awful skill activation time.
I also have this problem on other maps but mostly on foefire. It’s characterized by awful skill activation and delayed placement communication with the server. It’s like I’m in a giant WvW zerg but there are only 10 people on my map.
This has started getting worse and worse, and now it has reached the pinnacle of unplayable. It hit the mark with the release of Boss Week, where I would see the same symptoms people here have described and I’m running a 75Mbps line with a 15Mbps upload pipe at 3ms latency to closest router for my ISP. This is ridiculous. Today, I’ve been getting a ton of time-outs which isn’t letting me finish my personal story on my alt toon.
I know it’s not me, I’ve been monitoring the network status these past few days. Anet, PLEASE fix this!!

If the pvp devs actually played their game they would of noticed this issue the first day it started.
If the devs played the game they wouldnt be oblivious about the temple bug..or mock us for not understanding probabilities and how randomness works :P

I think it’s time to let that slip of tongue go. This lag is almost certainly not the PvP devs’ faults.
And they did respond about a day after the patch went live and a few hours after it was reported…how much faster should they have been to fix a performance problem that wasn’t caused by their programmers and that can’t be seen on their test servers due to zero ping?

This lag had been here since June 25 update (for EU)…
Since the patch this week any kind of competitive spvp/wuvwuv just went out the window with at least a 1-1.5second delay between when you click a skill and when it actually happens, on top of movement skills completely failing and glitching midway and other things, like skyhammer jumpads acting so wonky they’re simply un-usable.
In spvp it’s usually something like :
- you get disconnected from the servers for no reason mid match ( and no, it’s not the connection as my internet radio keeps playing thru it)
- the server hickups…… nothing happens for 3-4 seconds then it all catches back up…. and you get 4 second’s worth of hits in one shot.
In wuvwuv you get all kinds of randomness warpbacks, movement skills glitching or downright not activating. slower projectiles just glitch and fail to hit targets that aren’t moving….. overall just sad and unplayable.
It looks like either a cpu/band queing issue on the anet side….

At the start of every solo q match I get MASSIVE lag. As in I will not be in the game basically. I then try to relog. Often it works, I load back in but then the lag means nothing happens on my screen when I approach anyone fighting. Then eventually WITHOUT FAIL after about 5 minutes of the match I am able to load back in and have literally zero lag whatsoever.
So first 5 minutes = unplayable lag.
After that = no lag at all.
This means I usually am 300-100 or 200-0 down (on a good time) every solo q match before I get in. Then I have to try and come back from there.
And it cant be my net I know that for a fact.
