With the new rank system, dragon will become achievable for anyone who plays GW2 pvp consistently for ~1 year.

I think it would be cool if Arenanet made a new tier of class titles based on tournament wins.

These titles could be placed at the 1,000 win mark in tournaments.

Would you consider titles like this an incentive to keep playing a class after you reach the champion title?

This idea would be super easy to implement and I think 1,000 tournament wins is a more skill based achievement than rank, showing that you’ve played a lot in a serious game mode on a class and won a substantial number of games with it.

I forgot to mention that this idea would also reward currently high ranked players who have won thousands of games on their main class with a cool title that most players below 60 do not have yet.

i like this. coz i pretty sure lots of players have class they prefer to play better. although i like having all the titles from all classes. shows how much you understand about other class skills and play style.

There are people who don’t like others to have any kind of reward for either matches won or time spent. In fact, these titles will just become the new ranking system. While I personally would love to have long term prestigious goals to work towards, you will have individuals screaming that these titles are “too hard to achieve” and the next thing you know, Anet goes and bumps everyone halfway through to the full title.

How we reached such a pathetic state of affairs I don’t know. There’s a kind of “social equality” mindset floating around where everyone is the same regardless of their efforts.

By this, do you mean to make it retroactive so that the thousands of games are rewarded?

well yeah, all the tournament games you’ve played so far would be factored in to whether or not you get the title

The only thing is, if it’s retroactive, you’d need to move the goal posts or tier it, otherwise current R70s would automatically get most of the titles (provided they achieved it via tournaments) and still have nothing to strive for.
