Let me clarify the match making for you.
I get the logic of it, I just don’t want to play against premade teams in a solo queue setting regardless of the win percentage associated with it. Teamplay is a huge part of these matches, and it creates different games entirely when one side has the teamplay and the other doesn’t. Even if the MMR is telling a story of how we are equally likely to win, the game just plays differently. Often in a frustrating way for the solo queue side.
The patch was a step in the right direction, but there needs to be more done. A separated solo (/ duo?) queue system and team queue system instead of a 1-round / 3-round system seems like the optimal way to go.
I’m also confused at how my rating will work when I choose to both solo queue and team queue, but I think eventually that will be explained in time.

Its the same for me..
premade team=win,high level games,good coordination,fun
soloq=troll team,stomped by premades,waste of time
Nothing really changed,is like the join solo button…eehh ITS EXACTLY THE SAME
The match making guarantees you 50% wins. You guys make it out to be that the other 50% are games against premades. This is very very very unlikely.
Just entered a 1-round tourney, got a match instantly (I pressed a solo queue button). 4 of my teammates were all under rank 10 while enemy was a premade team with lowest rank 42.
There is a problem with match making: Winning is more fun than losing. When the system works, you are supposed to only win 50% of your games.
Such an EXCELLENT point, and we need to remember it when the matchmaking algorithm starts working well and games tend to be close, with neither side feeling “powerful” and dominant.
A great matchmaking system will mean NOBODY will honestly be able to claim that they win most of their games…as long as there are at least two “top-ranked” teams available at all times.
One thing that helps mitigate the feeling of being less powerful is knowing where you stand on the leaderboard. Knowing you are facing the best there are goes a long way in giving you that “performance pride” back.
Both teams at the Super Bowl know that getting there is an achievement in itself.

Remember everyone at the start of playing has equal MMR so rank doesn’t mean how good you are. After good amount of games your either going to go up or down and play players of similar MMR. There is a good change the enemy premade was their 1st few games so they have yet to raise their rating so they could play anyone starting off fresh rating as well. Give the system a good month before you start getting awesome games.
League of Legends was the exact same way. Just play a bunch of games and your rating will rise or fall to where it should be.
Let me clarify for you, OP, that MMR was on for almost a month, and it really took a day (not a month) for it to crystalize, to start getting good matches against people of similar skill. And it worked really good (except a lot of re-matches, but that is a side effect of low pop, and not of bad mm system)
Why would they ninja reset it now is beyond me. I can hardly make myself go play the game now, knowing im facing X number of drab walkthroughs against solo queuers of vastly inferior experience. Not fun for me, not fun for them.
I actually wonder if it works at all now after the patch, since some people say they played a lot of games and still get very bad teams to play against even after 10-20 games.
And ladder and matchmaking arent the same thing of course, but a proper quality-over-quality ladder cant exist without matchmaking.
