…War may be weak, but not uh…not this weak lol. If I land one good hit, I can usually chain someone dead. Multiple someones if they group. =D Condi Zerker is funny btw. When you play War, think in combos. Not “drop kit drop kit drop kit” but “If I get in melee, and swap to berserk mode I can taunt then bash then grind”. Btw, that combo usually kills guys in condi mode. =)
Not saying War is in a great place, but…its not this bad. Thief is this bad. War is getting there. Best to worst is Guardian>Mesmer>Necromancer>Elementalist>Revenant>Engineer>Ranger>Warrior>>>>Thief. Guard would be behind Revenant, but DH is strong still.

I love condi zerk xD, people just want warrior to have some success and as much as people try to make it work, it hasn’t been happening in higher tier play. How dissapointing is it that berserker was the only elite spec not to be played at all in last week’s event? Professional players aren’t using them, metabattle has 0 working berserker builds (daredevil has at least one in the great category), there is a real issue here.
I posted this because I love the profession and want it to be good, it deserves to be at least better than this (especially berserker). They have a lot of great ideas and berserker itself I love the flow of, it’s just a little behind under builds.
Thief is having it rough too because they’re forced to mostly go into melee with all these DH traps running around lol, at least the old D/P has been shown to still be effective in higher tier play, it’s just not as easy anymore for the average player.
The fact that Berserker still has 0 working builds, and even the test ones are barely as good as the old Warrior ones really speaks volumes. No wonder it has also seen 0 use in recent professional events.
Berserker simply doesn’t offer enough to warrant considering it as a trait line. Either some mandatory traits in the core specs need to be made baseline to give some more flexibility, or Berserker needs to be rebalanced to actually offer something worth the loss of some of the other fundamental specs.
It also doesn’t help that Berserk mode itself isn’t really that appealing: you’re basically burning three bars of adrenaline for the chance of using fairly mediocre (Arc Divider is awesome tho) burst skills in sequence, and some minor buffs if traited for it.
The Torch is actually the aspect of the specialization I have the least amount of problems with, it does what it’s supposed to do.
Overall I like the idea of the specialization, but the execution easily brings it down to the most underperforming elite spec by far, even below daredevil.
From what I’ve seen a lot of people have simply abandoned the Warrior and rerolled another profession (hopefully trimming down the hefty warrior population wasn’t the aim from the beginning) and it’s kinda hard to blame them.
In the end, I know I’ll still play my Warrior to hell and back, but it’s undeniable that it’s in need of serious help, and the silence from the devs is kinda worrying.
What better place than here? What better time than now?

lol patience, as bad as it looks right now, Arenanet isn’t shoehorning warriors on purpose, and it will get fixed. Not everything plays out as intended, remember when dragonhunters were announced and played in the beta and everyone thought they were kinda meh?
They may jump on this sooner to step into the more competitive scene like LoL, but probably at the absolute latest december. There’s been talk on thief being worse, and while they aren’t in the most accessible spot either, here’s the difference to me:
-D/P thief is still meta, though not as easily accessable, it has been proven to still work

Daredevil has two builds in the great category, how many berserker builds are on metabattle over a week in? 0, there are 0 confirmed workable builds. There is one test build, that’s it. Even the professional players can see it’s faults, there’s a reason why nobody represented berserker last week at the tournament, absolutely nobody played one.
Seems that they have up a bit berserker this patch:
Warrior
Berserker—Dead or Alive: When activated, this trait no longer ends berserk mode.
Berserker—King of Fires: The burn duration increase modifier has been increased from 20% to 33%.
Berserker—Eternal Champion: In addition to its previous effects, this trait now also grants 3 stacks of might for 8 seconds when you break stun.
Berserker—Rupturing Smash: Added 0.5 seconds of daze to this skill. Increased immobilize duration from 1 second to 2 seconds.
Berserker—Fatal Frenzy: This trait now grants 6 seconds of fury in addition to its previous effects.
Berserker—Bloody Roar: This trait no longer grants fury or inflicts bleeding. This trait now increases all direct damage dealt in berserk mode by 10%.
Berserker—Always Angry: This trait has been reworked so that it now grants an effect for 15 seconds when entering or leaving berserk mode, increasing outgoing damage and condition damage by 7%.
Berserker—Outrage: This skill can now be used underwater and while airborne.
Berserker—Blood Reckoning: This skill can now be used underwater.
Berserker—Scorched Earth: Updated skill facts to show the correct number of hits.

I saw, shoutout to Anet as some of these are very awesome changes! It’s a good start and a welcome change
Bloody roar and Always angry 17 % more damage. I like that always angry seem to buff you when you get out of berserker form so as normal warr your not totally kitten. It should be always up if you rotate your form.

It kinda felt like a person saying they have cancer, so they were given a 7% pay raise to get better. It’s not the help they need and it doesn’t fix/address the core problems warriors now have.

Keep in mind this isn’t a full new build or anything, just a small touch. Does it fix all the problems? Of course not, but it’s a welcome change and going i nthe right direction. Berserker is now catering to both condi and power builds which I think is nice.
For not being a full-on balance patch, those new buffs to berserker are definitely pretty nice – even if they’re definitely a bandaid more than an actual cure.

Exactly! Consider this a bandaid and not the full treatment which is yet to come, but I’m very happy they gave us berserker users a few new tricks today.
The traitline changes of berserker I think are a step i nthe right direction because now it caters to both power and condi. I still have my burns with increased duration and damage, power warriors can now have access to more raw damage if they want it with taunt. Always angry probably had the best change, it just caters to anyone, I love it lol
UPDATE: I do think berserker has gotten better as I can name at least two builds to be an asset to my team, very much appreciated!
Sometimes it hurts in 1v1s, but I find the worst matchups to be dragonhunters and engineers at times. Strangely enough, I don’t struggle with reapers. They’re almost there, perhaps a little more 1v1 potential and we’re good!

Actually daredevil is in tier 1 now lol, I didn’t expect warrior to get fixed on one of their small patches, but the minor changes do hold me off until the big one comes. It will get fixed.
We’ll see how these leagues go. At least the developers are spending money on IMPORTANT things as opposed to tournaments that nobody watches! If they don’t balance out the professions on par with leagues then I might just quit pvp & just stick to wvw & pve.
