Hello everyone! Zoose here, avid PvPer and GW2 fanatic! I’d just like to input the fact that there is a lot of negativity on these forums, and games tend to do or die from their communities. Let’s all be a bit more positive and happy about things. Your fixes will come soon, not everything is perfect, and things will fall into place eventually. In the mean time, enjoy the game, theorycraft, figure out some counters and play to your best ability!

I personally find that this game has an extreme amount of flexibility. At a top tier level this game still allows you to be flexible. There are teams that are successful running every class in this game. Don’t lose hope for your class. There’s always a way, friends. : ]

Although I appreciate what you are trying to do here, I can’t help to wonder what you mean by “there is a lot of negativity on these forums”. If you are talking about people attacking others and people calling DEVs morons and other things like that, then those things are negative.

I just hope you aren’t talking about the countless posts about major issues plaguing this game. If you are talking about the latter, then I will have to disagree with you. Those things are what get the word out there about game breaking bugs and about issues that are plaguing the community. I think the fact that these bugs exist, coupled with the fact the devs are mutes, cause a lot of these posts. They desperately need a community manager or someone that can help provide some feedback to the people that clearly love this game.

Look, at this point, you would have to agree that if we’re still playing this game and posting feedback on the forums, your line “avid PvPer and GW2 fanatic” most likely appies to all of us (minus the few “gw sux” posts). This bare-bones PvP experience is still being played by people, but those still playing exclusively since HeadStart can easily be called GW2 fanatics.

Lastly, I would like to ask about your comment: “Let’s all be a bit more positive…your fixes will come soon”. On what grounds are you saying they will come soon? I think my main problem with this game so far is that the fixes come slow, if at all. Block bug perfect example of this, that was game-breaking and stayed put for 2+ months. Also, their fixing things often cause unintended side-effects, which doesn’t have a lot of us super confident in fixes.

All in all, I like your post. I appreciate your attitude and the way some of you top players are reaching out to the community but I will just like to request something of you. Since we clearly love the game as much as you, be patient with us and just realize the things we demand are things we want because we love the game and want it to succeed.

Edit: also, I would like to add that many of my frustrations are born out of the lack of support SPVP gets. Clearly, SPVP was given a small team and minimal resources to be successful. I think, as clearly shown in their post-launch patch strategy, PvE has many more resources. Well, you may say, “it’s because PvE is their bread-and-butter”. That may be true, but it doesn’t change the fact that us in the PVP community get to feel like John Snow. They make PvE changes that show up in PvP (only explanation I have for the mesmer buff). PvE bugs get fixed almost immediately, meanwhile again, I bring up the block bug and Svanir runes (and other ones that still exist).

Signed,
Felivear

I’d enjoy the game if there was some variation in sPVP. A lot of us are tired of just capping and killing one or two people in between. These changes need to be made soon, I’m getting tired of this.

Agreed &+1

The game isn’t perfect by a long shot, some things are out of whack or downright missing.

But it will get better. It’s fine to be critical if its coherent. Lets see what Anet brings in the 1st Qtr of 2013. It could be just what we are waiting for. This game has plenty of things to do, I have barely done a thing besides sPvP since launch, like most others. When your feeling that frustration, that inner rage quit rising to the surface, take a swig of some good stuff and go do a map completion or something and the come back to pvp when you get that Pwn feeling again.

On a related note, if you want the community to grow, support your streamers. Get on there, follow them, view them on your 2nd monitor. Twitch helps to grow a game & raise its exposure.

Help streamers help the game and by extension, you.

Hard to be positive when there is a severe lack of communication from anet regarding spvp. I think people had high hopes before the dec 14 patch came in that was many thought would fix alot of the problems, but it ended up being very minor.

In this day and age, you have a very small window to keep a loyal player-base especially for MMO’s. Once people get bored and leave, they usually don’t come back unless its a super casual type of game (which mmo’s are not).

It’s basically been a wall of silence here. Yes I know, winter vacation and whatnot, but even then it feels like the sPvP part of the game is extremely low priority for them.

Call me when this game gets fixed…. if it ever does….

I agree. This forum seems to be a giant toilet; people are constantly kittenting in it. Most of the problems are not mechanic based, just subjective opinions. Instead of theorycrafting and practice, some players feel that the game should play for them.

About what exactly am I supposed to be happy? Any specific “things”?

Highly unlikely. We’ve been waiting for them since day 1.

H@H@H@H@H@H@H@. Oh, I am sorry, were you being serious?

On NA — probably. But everybody knows EU is months ahead of NA.

Even tho I appreciate your attempt to keep up our spirits but the Guild Wars 2 future as a competitive game is really, REALLY grim.

TBF I think they have concentrated really hard on PVE since release and yes things can still be improved in PVE but overall the level of work and content we have received has been great.

So if the level of quality of improvements in PVE are anything to go by I would say this game has a very bright future PVP wise its all a case of waiting and being patient.

Games don’t become big competitive sports over night, it takes time and lets face it the majority of MMO players do have the time to spare.

I think there are two kinds of critics.

Those who are passionate about the game and feel a few chnages could really help it become fantastic, but who like it already and therefore are investing the time to critize it rather than quitting.

And those who are just complainers , and probably this isnt the game for them they should just move on.

I dont mind the first kind of critic at all.

i think that if this community have voted something, probably it was the pve community because the pvp one is really disappointed.
now anet, you ekitten is where u wanted it, i think. now u are strong, you are good, you are brave.
ok
now go back to work, and start to LISTEN to the pvp community. or this game will be f2p before 1year release.

If the next update doesn’t bring some sort of variation to sPVP then I might bolt back to GW1 and spend another 6 years on that.
