With so many complaint posts I figured it would be nice to have a post dedicated to counterplay, specifically towards the professions that are often categorized as over powered and give people the most trouble. Please comment below on general tips to defeating a strong profession such as what to watch out for, when to evade, etc.. Also, it might be worth while to note that although a few things may be obvious to you, others may have no idea what the hell is going on and need a little push in the right direction; whether this means describing what a skill looks like (such as the massive dragon from the Revenant) or what an icon/buff looks like on a character (like how Ranger’s Signet of Stone has no noticeable animation yet looks like a bunch of circles with a brown background). This post is mainly targeted towards newer players or those who don’t have experience with every profession but I’m sure others can find some use for it as well.

Bring evades, blocks and invulnerabilities orteleports…in the current state of the meta you won’t survive without them, use them wisely, when on cooldown avoid staying next to enemy players ( DH traps, mesmer gravity wells, ele air overload, revenant unrelenting assault, scrapper hammer skill 3 ), when you get bursted on cooldown don’t reprimend yourself (there are a LOT of burst skills on the table now) don’t get angry and keep focused, go back at it.

On a 1 vs 1 if you use blocks evades ports, invulnerabilities you won’t have much of a problem, on team fights you can always be blind sighted accept that and next time hope you don’t get caught while on cooldowns.

Train your activation of blocks, evades, ports, invulnerabilities…you need to cast them in 1 second flat.

Hope this helps.
