So, I just got to legendary division tonight, solo Q’d all my games with thief (except 3 games in sapphire), and unlocked the title “exalted legend”, which IMO is horrible, I never played s1, so I never got the way better looking “primordial legend”.

Now why is “exalted legend” bad? Easy.

It’s a bad name because when newbs look at it they’ll think I got it cleaning up garbage in tarir or something. They won’t be like “woah he’s kittening legit and so good”.

So please, can it be changed?

PS. Don’t make the title for s3 “itzel legend”, or “glider legend” or something similar.

Currently, I can display S1 title + show the S2 badge, but what do I do in season 3? How can I show, that I reached legendary in the previous two seasons?

E.g. Reached Legendary in one season: Exalted Legend
Reached Legendary in two different season: (The way cooler) Primoridal Legend.
and so on…

While I agree that every title available right now doesn’t mean much, I still like to see the old master of arena (or something like that) titles, they are most likely the rarest ones in the game.

There could be a hidden achievement for getting all four seasons’ titles – “Legendary Legend”. Imagine all the people who would only find out about its existence well after missing the opportunity to obtain it.

How about “Legendary Grinder”. Because thats what it would be for the vast majority that reaches legendary in season1 and season2. Cant wait to see the grind necessary in season3.

1) Legendary doesn’t make you "so good." There are so many people diamond and above with no clue.
2) Legendary doesn’t make you legit. You can still stronghold farm you way to it.
3) If the PvEr cares enough about titles they will know it’s not from their mode. If they don’t care enough to know, then they don’t care, so why care what they think?

But then we’d have the same problems as with that system. At least this way, all the titles are the same rank (until the division means something, then the title associated with that time may have some standing), so you can use whatever one you prefer and have it reflect your position. With the Avenger(lowest I can remember) to Legendary Champion system, if you preferred Reaper, or (as is my case) Mist Walker, you’d use that and it wouldn’t reflect your true rank. That might not bother some, but it seems to be important for the majority.

Edit: But playing off that idea anyway, I would prefer titles for having reached legendary division X, Y, Z times instead of wins in that division.

I think it’s fine having a separate title per season. As long as each title is as cool sounding as the others. Exalted Legend might normally sound decent, but borrowing the word from PvE does take away from it. Should be changed.

Reminds me how the titles you got in the WvW tournaments were Veteran of the Mists, Mist Runner, and Mist Treader. One of these is much better than the other two lol.

Mist Legend/Legend of the Mists seems an obvious option

Solo Legend=~80% (?) of ranked games to legendary division are solo.
Duo Legend=~80% (?) of ranked games to legendary division are duo que.
Phalanx Legend=~80% (?) of ranked games to legendary division played in a 3-5 man.

Prefixing it with Legend would get stale after several seasons. Maybe also making the four legendary achievements themed based on the year’s league theme (e.g. Year of Ascension) would prevent that.

If we don’t include Legend, I might recommend a title as others suggested based on the progression of multiple Legendary accomplishments over the course of multiple seasons. As we use “Slayer” often for this, I might suggest:
Primordial Slayer- Reach Legendary in 1 Season
Slayer of Men – Reach Legendary in 2 Seasons
Slayer of Heroes – Reach Legendary in 3 Seasons
Slayer of Legends – Reach Legendary in 4 (or more) Seasons

I agree. First time i saw the title i was like, wtf. It has no prestige, pvp asociation or anything. It’s like there was zero thought put into it. It’s terrible. It doesn’t even sound ‘cool’ at the very least.

Update the class titles already!? It’s been like 3 years and still you have one title for only 150 wins. At least do one for 500 and 1k ranked games won.

Time has diminished these titles worthless. I don’t want to have the same title, having won over 2k games on 1 class, as the next guy who just hit the 150.

Yeah, I agree, titles for 1k+ wins would be sweet, they could go something like:

Thief: The essence of shadows
Ele: The essence of elements
Mesmer: The essence of illusion

• I got to Legendary and all I got was this stinking title.

• I had a two hour queue for my final match, but at least I got this Legendary Title!

• I farmed newbs with my premade and have “Legendary” to prove it.

• I set this Legendary title right before I logged off and waited for the next season.

lol I would totally rock “Legendary Salt Box” as a title. Titles for pvp, fine. The backs and associated achieves needed to get them….not so bright. I understand it was to bait people, but it baited the wrong types. For instance, I’m not good with every profession (the rage I got the other day for trying out a warrior…lawl), but I have to try, to get the 3 prof 7 win/ea. achieve, to get the gifts. I actively curse too, so being salty is very much a thing in S2 lol.

I don’t think the title sounds bad at all. Here are my suggestions however some even based off legend tiers:

Legend x5: box with legendary weapon and the Totes Awesome Legend title.

Of course. I have some here in my suggestion bag full of bagged suggestions. Here. Have a bunch.

• Legendary Champion:
  • Earn every other ‘Champion’ title.
• Legendary Master of Arenas:
  • Introduced after at least 5 PvP modes and at least 5 maps for each mode are added, including Team Deathmatch (Courtyard)
  • Obtained by winning 100 ranked or unranked matches on at least each of 5 different maps on each mode.
• Legendary Dominator:
  • Win 1000 ranked or unranked matches in which you are the player with more ‘kills’ and less ‘deaths’ among both teams.
• Legendary Bulkward:
  • Win 1000 matches in which you are never defeated, but lost the most health of all players among both teams.
• Legendary Strategist
  • Win 100 matches in which every member of your team has less personal score than every member of the enemy team.

Legendary Strategist sounds impossible. I see that maybe once in 1000 games

As far as titles go, i think Anet kind of shot themself in the foot like Blizzard did. In wow all titles go like furious gladiator, merciless gladiator etc. I think eventually they ran out of ideas and titles became more and more …umm… odd. League kept it simple, challenger season XY kek.

Please don’t have a unique title for reaching legend in each distinct season. Just have a tiered title system that rewards more prestigious titles the more seasons you have attained legendary division in (similar to the maxed titles title in the GW1). Having a title for each season is just bogging us down with a ton of titles that don’t feel unique or special.

Primordial Legend is fine since it marks the first ever season, but anything after that should only count towards a tiered title system. (Also, I’m fine with Exalted Legend as a name for a title. If people confuse it with a PvE title it’s not like they’d have a clue what it was anyway).

Examples:
Young Legend – Reached Legendary division in 1 season.
Legend – Reached Legendary division in 2 seasons.
Venerable Legend – Reached Legendary division in 3 seasons.
…?
Exalted Legend – Reached Legendary division in 5 seasons.
….?
Eternal Legend – Reached Legendary division in 8 seasons.
… More?

I like the theme of adjectives referring to time/age (eternal/young), or “status” (venerable/exalted).

I think most people agree that it should be an “accumulative” title, that would persist through all seasons, instead of a 1-off for each one.

Think back to the days of Guild Wars 1, where we had these types of accumulative title tracks.
