Life Steal functionality standardized??
Yeah Im wondering same thing, what does mean standardized? And theres no Vampiric Presence (necro) on list, but I think that is also “standardized”.
Anet please care to explain?
I haven’t tested it in pvp yet, but they have removed the life steal damage to WvW gates. If life steal damage is normalized for PvP that would mean that using life steal will no longer penetrate armor, protection, and most noticeably signet of stone and damage immunity (different from invuln).
Basically, it means that if something is supposed to be immune to damage, you can’t life steal from it anyway.
It will still ignore armor and other damage reductions, but, for example, you won’t be able to harm a Ranger using Signet of Stone that way.
Sigil of blood doesn’t do damage or heal anymore, and sigil of leeching only heals.

Sigil of blood does absolutely nothing now—I’m guessing it’s bugged. Sigil of leeching heals for about the same amount as before but doesn’t do damage.

One doesn’t do anything and Leeching doesn’t deal damage when it’s consumed, it only heals you. This standardization thing they did bugged out many life steals, including Revenant’s trait life steal, which hits for like 2.1k atm.

It appears I was sorely mistaken in my assumption. I have no clue what they were talking about since it seems like most of them are terribly bugged now.
My interpretation was that they where standardizing the base damage and base healing of life steals along with how they scale with stats.
Although it’s impossible to test since everything is bugged atm.

Unless I’m going crazy this hasn’t happened. I faced off against a Rev on my War and still managed to get my HP leeched while using Endure Pain.
