SO I end up alt+f4 in the games because I lost 10 times ( yes you heard that right) in a row on when my team scores 400s , and sometime I even get on the top 2 or 3 on the score but I CAN NOT GET OUT OF THE LOSING STREAK
whats the point of this ranked ? Who designed this and HOW CAN II can jump tiers cause 36 games I am on the same tier, now if that is not bull(kitten) i dont know what is, give us a bonus if we get on the loser team like why

I see millions of other posts complaining about the same thing but what is there NOT to ?

Arenanet your spvp system is bad and you should do smthng about this , idk how you fix it but customer is always right and your entire community tells you to fix it so

Yeah sometimes it’s mistakes that cost you the match. But yes, we’ve at this point all had that team. Where you play like a god, holding off 2-3 players, while some of your team just run around fighting off point and dropping in seconds. But when you all get to the same point in a 5 vs 5 you waste the other team, but for some reason they just can’t cap or take out 2 guys when they out number them.

It sucks but that’s online PvP, in any team based game, you don’t always have the most skilled players.

This sounds like you’ve actually had good matchmaking but your team made more mistakes.

By chance what division are you stuck in?

Do you talk with the team before the match? A simple “Hi, I’m going mid/home/far” loosens people up usually.

Do you see people feeding a zerg on your home? Or similarly 3 people running to help a 1v1 on home? Call them out on it (gently).

People going for secondary objectives when they shouldn’t? People fighting off point? Poor rotation in general? Prod people gently on these points during the match and hopefully you will get through. Also make sure you aren’t committing the same sins. Also watch the mini-map if you see the other team has left a point un-defended and you are fast capture it or decap it at the very least.

At a certain point you give in, and stop babysitting other players. Sure it’s adding to your downfall. But at least you avoid getting getting angry pm’s what he or she should do.

Also people get tunnel vision. Never look at the map or chat box. I’d be capping a point after finishing a 1v1 only two have 2 people come to my rescue after I already capped it.

Well you know what the definition of insanity is: Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

You know after your second loss you could just relax, take a breather for an hour or two, then do another match. You might win.

I really dont understand people that keep bashing their heads against a brickwall. We already know that the sPvP population is relativly small and odds are that you meet the same people over and over. Letting the player base refresh will vastly improve your chances of breaking streaks. Getting more and more frustrated after each loss does not.

Its the new MMR system game try to find players with your MMR and team you with them,the enemy team have there own MMR and they dont care what MMR you have so if you get on losing streak there get more likely you keep losing forever as your MMR go to the dumpster rank and if you are on winning streak you keep winning as you are more likely to get teamed against team with low MMR.

Lost one yesterday after a good start because some constantly pushed far for no reason …
I did fight over a minute 1:2 in the center and those on far did not join for help so i lost it as a result. Currently i usuall don´t loose more then one in a row but if i get 3 losses i will wait / team up with a friend before my MMR goes down. Just be smart and don´t let the system drag you down.
Solo Q and try hard within a small timeframe can realy suck with the current matchmaking.

Well every game you are expecting better team mates as in talks and tries to help, after a while it goes back to grinding I guess, solo queue sucks.

I dont know how EXACTLY mmr works and where do I see my mmr points, how often it resets and at this point I am too afraid to ask lol

But I try to talk, seems like not everyone cares, every now and then someone says I take mid or smthng but thats it, they just log in and fight, not a word.

I may aswell play with bots at this point, at least they would be better teammates.

If your soloq guyz act like you, you will get that kind of result.

To carry matches, you need 2 points to win, keep them up.

Usually, it’s not the top 1, 2 or 3 glory point guyz that carried your match to victory. It’s the none selfish guy, holding a point that make you win games.

BTW, since you answer me… I will give you some tips. Leaving a match and not coming back will give you dishonor points that fade with time, but they have a big impact on your MMR.

This affect MMR way more than losing from 100 pts. If you dc, you will get MMR for losing for X points more thna if you don’t + having a counter to accumulated your bad behavior.

So, rage quitting on short term, will soloq random in baddest team than the one you just did flush the drain.

BTW, when you got report for boting or verbal abuse, admin that address those cases will give you Dishonor point too. Usually they will not affect your queue because their timeout-duration is done, but will keep their stack-duration on. Yeah, the effect of dishonor and the STATS of dishonor don’t decay at the same rate.

NO. There is no one way to win.

I have seen just as many loses like this where the entire fight was a 4v5 because one player decided they were going to sit on home even though the other team never even approached it. If the point is constantly under attack, then its different and that might be valid but too many people see things like this and say, no worries I will just sit and wait out the game. This is also why there is no points awarded to just bunker. Fighting and bunkering, yes, just standing around an uncontested point, no. If you are going to sit on a point, sit on one that’s underfire.

I agree that two points of three will generally win it for you, but you have be aware of what going on outside of 1 cap point and change your plan as needed from there else your opponents will release they will always have a +1 in fights and power play your side down.

E.G. If you’re in Sapph T1 you can still face people in Emerald T2

The way I remember it being explained, is that it starts with your current Tier and tries to find people within the same tier, as time goes on it takes the +/- rule and broadens it’s search.

Some things I’ve done to try and enjoy the season:
1) Look at your Achievements, if the game is spiraling way out of control find something to work on. Do you need Top Stats? start doing something that no one else is doing so you can knock that out. Res? Capture Points? Kill? Healing? Condi Removal? etc.

2) If you’re only playing 1 game mode, try switching things up. If you’re only playing conquest, take a break, adjust your build read up on Stronghold and Give it a shot. Flip things around if you only play Stronghold.

3) Try being a little more diverse. If you’re only playing 1 class and 1 class only.. you’re going to have a horrible time in any PvP season…. I’ve tried my hardest to get ant to remove the daily professions but they wont budge… E.g. If you only play Warrior, you may have a hell of a time if it’s Daily: Ranger, Revenant, Necromancer and Mesmer.

4) Find someone to PvP with. The more the merrier, I’m not saying you should go create a 5 man team… but see if any of your friends want to PvP with you. For me, I find it rather enjoyable PvPing with a friend. I tend to have fun laughing at her if she gets ganked and she tends to laugh at me if i get ganked, or we both laugh if one of us wins a 3v1 at mid.

The perfect situation would be for Anet to swoop in and fix this mess; however, realistic expectations have to be kept in mind. The PvP season is well underway and a few people in NA have already hit Legendary… so the chances of ANET doing a reset and fixing the match making is slim to none for this season… All we can do, is to try and make the best of it…

Give the above shots a chance and see if things brighten up for you
Rage quitting is never the answer, same with AFKing. Just take that time to try something new ^-^ you may find a new sniping spot or be able to have a fun 1v1 duel. The loss of a Pip still stings but ya….

even though i know whole spvp deal is 5 vs 5, I would love to see 10 vs 10, 15 vs 15 game types, i bet there would be more interest, i love massive battles ( not 60 vs 60 to drop my fps from 50 to 20 lol ) WvW is not pvp to me at all, I thought i liked it but not at all

I have done it once, but I gave up many games in game when they hit 300 and my team is like 50, sometimes other players are just way way better and no need to waste time really
