Played in 4 for ~half the match. Still lost a pip. I thought this wasn’t supposed to happen.

Did you end the match? If not then i think you loose a pip annyway.
If you are teamed up with the DC then you also loose a pip.

You should not loose a pip if you played the match till end + are not in the DC´s premade team.

Yea i did finish the match..like 500-30 lol. I was solo. Friends are overrated.

Please share more info regarding the match. If the devs can find the match in your playing history, they might be able to find the bug.

Some infos that might help:

• Time and Timezone the match happened
• Map on which the map happened.
• Account on which you played (if it was not the forums account).
• Maybe player name who had the dc (since dcs can happen to anybody, I don’t think sharing his name to help find a bug is not considered pillory).

Me too just now (on my other account) … I sent off a bug-report with all the info I could think of, hope this helps.

Today again. Someone left at ~half game ish. Obvious loss…..also lost 1 pip.

This system doesn’t work.

I have never seen this game NOT penalize me 1 pip for someone’s terrible internet or ragequit.

I actually had the first game yesterday where a loss with disconnect didn’t cost me a pip (and didn’t even count as a loss … the win after that gave me an extra pip for win-streak). The game nicely informed me that the loss would not count since there was a deserter on my team.

I’ve already had three or four games this season where I lost pips due to (non-partied) disconnects though, some of these with way longer disconnects than yesterday’s match.

Well…then it seems u must be specially tagged by anet to take advantage of that privileged system…otherwise i can’t explain it.

Someone just got mad the last I match I played and quit. Told us to eff off before dc’ing. I stayed till the end. I wasn’t in their team yet lost a pip. It was a blowout to begin with but I still lost a pip. Maybe has something to do with score and time they DC? It was a 5 – 500 game in t4 of sapphire.

Solo play, 11:45 EST 3/4, Temple, player on same team drops at ~ 250 pts, lose a pip. Not grouped with them but my team did have 2 – 2 player teams and 1 solo (me). Is there some logic that after x amount of time of match or points that pip lose still occurs?

Same thing happend to me now the second time. Send a ticked the first time, but no response.

I queued both matches solo and both matches are listet as a defeat in Match-History.

Its just frustrating finally having a winstreak and then loosing it cause of a dc. So its not just the pip i lost for the match but the extrapips i would have gotten the next matches.

then, we lost…barely as well after that guy dced and returned
i didnt lose a pip, the system say no pip lost due to someone abandoning the match

I ran into this last night during one of my games.

Had 1 teammate complain of a 3k ping, then disconnected. Then we had a 2nd player just up and leave. Finished the game (lost, badly). Neither player came back, so it ended as 3v5. All solo q’s. Still lost a pip.

I have seen it go both ways for losing a pip or not after someone disconnects. At first I thought it was because they came back so it counts as a game but now I am not so sure.

Maybe if they quit GW2 entirely then you dont lose a pip but if they stay in game and just leave the match for some reason it counts the game as being “real” and thus you still lose the pip??

I played for diamond placement 3 times. (First I needed 1 pip, second and third I had a winning streak and needed 2 pips).
First time my teammate dc’d for just over half a minute, but the game was so close 200 – 200 at the time, that we ended up losing hard and thus lost no pip. That’s fine.
Second time though, we had a teammate that never even connected to the game, so we played a full duration 4-5, and we all lost a pip. That’s not fine at all. Third time we had a dc for roughly 2 mins, almost won too, but they took the game and the game took my pip. So totally uncool.

Also I don’t believe in fate, but I only played 3 placement games and only had 3 games with a dc, “illluminati” also has 3 ’l’s if you mispell it, like the guy probably did who coded this system…
