im having the same issue… once I hit ruby for some reason i’m getting teamed up with REALLY REALLY BAD PLAYERS… breezed through amber, emerald, and sapphire, now.. my win rate is 10% in ruby… stuck at 0 tier ruby because the people i’m getting matched with are far below my abilities… and most games are blow outs… 500- sub 250
Took you guys long enough to get to the club… But don’t worry, ppl assured me that it’s all in my head and that there is no such loophole in the system… I’m really that bad in fact.
We have been pointing this out for an entire week now…
ANET’s usual silence serve as a spark for forum raging… if they at least answer us by saying they are looking into it… or that they know there are unintended problems that are being addressed…. The forums would me MUCH nicer and the amount of players quitting the game would be much less…
As mentioned in another thread; if you keep losing, stop playing for a while, then try again later. Communication helps. Picking up multiple classes and learning to play them helps a whole lot too. Matchmaking can give you some really bad matchups, but there’s a lot you can do yourself.

imaging you keep getting weird matchmaking consist of ppl of lower division in your team while your team are facing people of a higher division. loool

The MMR is absolutely similar, except that was because I started my league with couple bad games with noob players. That’s the turning point when you are dragged into this MMR spiral.

The problem is, why do I have to carry scrubs in every match when my skill level is on par? Why do I need to be responsible for the players who lack the knowledge of pvp, who doesn’t know jackkitten about map rotations? Tell me why do I have to sacrifice my matches to them?

Don’t get me wrong. I hear you and I commiserate with you. But, wasn’t this the exact same complain that people made on this very forum about season 1 matchmaking? Wasn’t this the very reason why matchmaking was changed in season 2?
I had hell in amber. Playing a few games there I realized that had I started playing a few hours later in the league I would have rode the MMR wave to lala land. It’s ok I have bought a huge bucket from wally world today to collect Ruby and soon Diamond tears. They are precious.
So, be careful what you wish for. You might as well get it. Now that you got it. Deal with it.

Because you can’t lose downwards in the earlier divisions, you have to think of them as “training” divisions that anyone can possibly get out of, with some persistence and luck.
Ruby is actually the true bottom division, because bad players who managed to grind their way through the training divisions will collect here.
In a solo-only queue game, if you are in elo hell there’s not much you can do other than start a new account.
But in a mixed queue game, everyone has a method to get out of elo hell. Its called “find teammates and queue as a team”. Even if you get just one or two players you can trust, that will improve your chances.
Surely its better to spend a few minutes interviewing some pugs, and then winning 5 matches, compared to jumping right in and losing 8 matches?

Lol he knows that, he was being sarcastic because we have Ben saying the same thing for a week now. All we got was the usual “MMR working as intended” or “git (mind you not get) gud”.
I see the same issues in diamond now. I’m not a top player but I get matches with people from esportz teams like Chaith and Caed?
I’m definitely not their tier but somehow MMR thinks I’m there.
On the flip side, I get matched with random people playing useless warrior and 2 DH against a meta 2 nec/druid/ele/rev comp so rip idk what’s going on anymore.

Also, i went on a huge winstreak amber through sapphire, shouldn’t my MMR be higher now? Shouldn’t I get matched with similar skilled people….. What I am seeing in the players I’m matched up with suggests the very opposite.
While you were riding your winstreak in amber and emerald with your other winstreak buddies, chances are those winstreak buddies rode another set of winstreak while you were taking a dump, showering or sleeping and, therefore, left you behind. Also, it’s quite possible those players stopped playing after getting their wings.

The players I got matched up with in those ranks, for some reason, did not do stupid things, like snowball into fights, not knowing how to peel for themselves or others , not knowing how to focus called out targets, literally dying in 2 seconds…However, that is what I am seeing now. the players I am being matched up with literally do all these things… yet somehow made it ruby.
As they say bad players are like cream always rise up to the top. That sounded bad. How about, in the mists kitten flows upwards? Take your pick.

Lol and I was told the snowball effect or whatever you want to call it was supposed to end two weeks into the league. As if people were never going to catch up. And to you my friend, what the system does is group 5 low MMR player together and match them against 5 High MMR player. So the more you lose, the kittentier your chances of winning will be.
Anet likes to see this, they don’t care anything, because they think S2 is good ultimately.
In fact they ignore many details, and then can’t control it now.
GW2 is not orthodox E-sport game, is MMORPG, the wrong decision will bring unhappy.

Asked a baddie ranger to leave home and let me guard it. I said, “druid plz leave home to me”. That was the only toon w/ ranger icon in the group. He did not leave and proceeded to dbl cap an uncontested point. So, I go, “wtf man. why?” He goes, “not a druid.”

There are actually decent players stuck in the death spiral. Sometimes even 5 of them are put together and they win a game.
What happens though is that with these actually decent players who got trapped in the death spiral are some kind of bad players. So what you get with these low MMR made teams is a couple decent players who are sandbagged with a couple not great players AND then matched against 5 players with higher MMR. Rinse and repeat.
These players stuck in the spiral will continue because every match they are being sandbagged. All it takes is getting stuck with one useless player and the match is basically lost.
Team building should be based ENTIRELY on pip level and not on MMR. Basing it on MMR is bs.
I finally had a decent win streak going the other day and what do I get to face? PZ running alts through sapphire because they can’t get a match (queue fixed???). But I guess that is another matter.

I mean I get Chaith and Caed ON my team sometimes and other times I get total dweebs. Either they expanded the MMR range heaps or something’s weird.
What division are you at and how many pips? Dunno if they both already reached legendary div or they are still in diamond, but I guess you are a diamond yourself or in the last tiers of ruby.
