So one of my RL friends wants to join me in tPvP, he mostly wants his champion tittle but he’s a scrub PvEer

I’d be fully willing to bring him with me, but I don’t want to jump into tournies and rack up a bunch of loses in a dual queue partying up with him plus randomers.

I can take him to hot join but that’s not really a solution since you don’t get the real feel for a real tournament.

And finding a premade that’s willing to accept him as one if the precious 5 players to what could be needing to be carried till he gets it is rare.

I wish he had this interest while we had frees but should I just tell him “ask again at rank 20?” Or is it better for some reason to just roll with him and hope for the best?

Now I don’t mind losing too much, and I know a lot of people look down on the leaderboards. But I’d really rather not take unnecessary hits.

if the cheaterboards are irrelevant, who cares?

Yea i’d really love some unranked tournies too. But sadly the population isn’t there for it atm. If you split up the little remaining people we have already its gonna match the ques take twice as long, maybe even longer.

2nd account solves all tpvp confusion problems….or just flat out realise leaderboards are completely meaningless at the moment and when the split is made for solo and team they WILL have to reset ratings mmr etc.

Go to 5×5 hotjoins since it has a bigger chance of becoming something closer to tpvp – tell him the main objectives and roles of this game practice a bit, then go dual queue. Leaderboards here are meaningless, since there is no split between solo and premade, so do not worry about it. If anet has at least some intelligence left they will wipe and split leaderboards soon, but somehow I doubt it : |

If your actually on the top 1000 leaderboards, don’t do it, but if you just have a percentage, go ahead.

If you lose with % you only go down 5% no matter who you play and when you win you go up 5% no matter how great there rank is.

Just buy new account like all these PROs are doing

Played like 10 games yesterday, ranging from solo/duo/trio to premade queue, most of them popped instantly and those that didn’t popped within the minute.

And with CA and Spectator Mode even more people are gonna be coming to sPvP over the next few weeks. Therefore I see absolutely no reason not to split queues into solo/duo, premade and unranked.

Even if that will mean once in a while waiting 5-10 minutes for queue’s to pop the games will be a superior experience, and all the players that don’t wanna queue w/o a premade or with a newbie friend are going to get a way to do that while preserving their rating. And this should hopefully bring the PvP experience up a level and get more people to play.
