First, this is using 2 year old personal data and memories from old leaderboards, which were 100% MMR with 0 decay values. But i dont think theres much change in numbers, and poeple are still equally better or worse then each other relatively. So starting points:

1) 50.000 poeple per region played PVP, 98% vs top 2% were “top1000”

2) EVERYONE HAD 50% WIN RATIO

2.1) ONLY top20/100/250 players have HIGHER rate. WHY? medium players win and lose, while that is the population end, where THERE IS NOBODY better for them to lose. My old memories on average:

top 20 = 80%
top 100 = 70%
top 250 = 60%
myself top 500 = 55%
…
Everyone else from top 99 – 0 percentile = 50%

ACTUAL MATH

Div 3 = needs 25 wins in a row
Div 4,5 = needs 30 wins in a row

With a 50/50 winrate, the chances of getting those 30 wins are……..

1 : 1.073.741.824

1 vs Something Billion

Be Abjured and go 5-man team during whole night.
Theres very very likely nobody to beat such a team during those hours, so the 30 wins will happen

Everyone else,

with 80% winrate, i got 1:807.793566946 (tell if i made math mistake) ….but its stilll
-800 games
-with all 5 members present
- thats old winrate of Blackjack and ROM who played cheeztanks, their zerker teammates had lower rates
-for 1 division, you need 3x of those

Even a 51% win rate over a large enough number of matches will advance you.

Once you can lose pips and tiers for losses, those 49% of your matches that you lose will have you not really advancing much at all for weeks, I think.

And some tiers/divisions allow you to keep your points/division even if you lose. So anyone at 51%+ can reach legendary, just slower than someone at 60%. People with >50% win rate will also be able to reach at least ruby since you cannot get demoted after reaching a division.

In actual practice, you can get about 4 matches in an hour.
