I like the 5v5 DM idea, but courtyard is just a bad map. They need to give a more open space place to fight. Hopefully guild halls will move in the correct direction.
I like courtyard, it can be snowbally but so can all the other maps, and it is a nice change of pace. Build templates would make it much nicer though so you don’t need to scramble out of your conquest build.

Forest of Nifhel
Legacy of the Foefire
All the other conquest maps have some easy objective on par or a little below par of sky hammer with the added bonus of direct points being added.
Strong Hold
though if some people had there way it would only be the two maps above lol.

honestly i wouldn’t complain if it was just the 2 best maps,
but khylo is fine once you break the trebs, temple is fine, even spirit watch is tolerable :P

courtyard was my favorite map, i dont understand why people hate it. When on my thief me and another player always go around back with sr and kill the people trying to range and the 3 others do what they do.
On my warrior i run in there like a mad man trying to kill there zerg and if they dont separate they will die. With my ele i run in there like a lunatic and then immediately in mist form run out. 1/2 the time people will chase me and sometimes i can get a 1 vs 1 in a corner.
I truly dont understand why people hate it and compare it to WvW zerg fighting when there is serious tactics that can be applied in there.

It is, I’ll give you that; however, there are some fixes to it that can make it worth while. Going off of what you stated, you can switch the hammer to your color and hop back down.
I think a better fix for it would be along the lines of Kylo to wear you can destroy the hammer and have it rebuilt. Possibly have the repair kits on a hard to jump location such as the little bluffs above Point A and C?

To be frank, I loved loved loved courtyard. Especially when the map was first introduced last april ’14.
I was bummed at the removal of Capricorn. I love that map even more and courtyard could never takes its place. Anyway, courtyard is the funnest place for staff eles. I created a new ele character just for that map.
A lot of people despised courtyard and would QQ instead of trying. The attitude problems get on my nerves.
I Hate Dumb Teams – nec
Every time when Courtyard gets rolled 8 out of 10 peep start to QQ how terrible is this map, some saying they AFK out, others simply log off, but their excuse always the same “it’s just mindless button smashing” I don’t know if they learned this from others or everyone is so simple minded but if it’s just button smashing how is that there is a winner and loser?
If you play it mindlessly you gona lose, this is simple. If you won you did something better than the loser, that’s what competitive games about DOT
Skyhammer >> Spirit Watch
Spirit Watch has a bad layout and the orb is prone to so much cheese. Leaps and superspeed work but teleports don’t?
Skyhammer could be really fun if they cleaned it up properly:
- Make the side point areas larger
- No AoE from underneath B
- Remove a few of the panels
- More space in the control room and not instant-death when falling from here.
