The best thing to do is just quit or find people to queue with. If you and everyone else quits, the queue times will get longer and maybe something will be done. If you keep banging your head against the wall, it will only start to bleed.

season 2 has been much easier for me…..
you can pay all you want doesnt mean the game should be easier. so all those saying they paid money to play a game thats fine, PVP is what it is. If you cant handle losing a lot i would suggest not pvping.

You missed the point. PVP is not the fair competitive environment you think it is. When you pay money for something it should work as advertised. Unless you know something i don’t. The system is flawed and biased. These lopsided blowout matches are even happening in diamond and legendary. If the system is fair, only high caliber players should be in those divisions. A landslide in diamond should only be a 150 pt delta. not 450!
(edited by R O C.6574)
I don’t believe PvP is ever fair or MEANT to be fair because there are always players better and worse than you. Every one of us is better than someone else and at the same time, worse than someone else.
If you approach winning versus losing as a “fair” proposition, I think you have an unrealistic view of reality. Someone does not win because it’s fair or unfair for them to win. They win because they beat you.
And by the way, I’m not speaking about “cheating.” Obviously, that’s not fair. Victory is sweet, losing is hell. Fair has nothing to do with it.
You obvious are not getting it.
Being better or worse has nothing to do with fair. If you run a race against someone faster than you, they will most likely beat you. FAIR AND SQUARE.
What’s happening here is we are running a 5 man relay race and one team gets a guy in a wheelchair. THAT’S NOT A FAIR RACE.

sounds like an advantage….. you see how fast those wheelchair guys finish the marathons =)))
WE do understand what you are saying, what we are saying is even if you make things as perfect as you can it is still PvP…. to much human element for it to ever be completely fair.
The people complaining on the forums ARE NOT the majority. They are the vocal minority, if those people complaining think that is wrong thats fine i guess we can agree to disagree but numbers dont lie. If someone where to ever gather up the forum complaints on these forums and i guess we can add reddit i assure you the numbers would not be a large portion of the players actually pvping.

Won’t deny it this season has been way easier to rank up, I did in 3 days what took me a 3 weeks of similar gameplay. And TBH rank should be associated with skill, the rewards most likely shouldn’t.

sorry that losing in a video game makes you feel like having your dreams, ambitions, and independence violently taken away from you. maybe you should take a nap or drink a juice box or something.
Maybe this game helped him cope with life. Now if he’s lost something that he valued in his time off to relax or cool off or let off steam, or to rejuvenate himself, it makes him sad and angry. You shouldn’t criticize people’s motivations or feelings. It’s a very real frustration for him, obviously. You should grow some kindness and empathy inside that dead heart of yours.
And drinking a juice box is poison irl, so that will just make him more depressed.
And now to follow your own advice. You’re just sympathising one side and heavily criticize the other. (“Dead heart” wow)
The game is a game. To point out that learning to live with it is possibly the best advice. He wasn’t even impolite or anything.

It really does seem like this season has been easier for a lot of people, i think its just a lot of people were able to GRIND their way to legend and diamond in season 1 and now they cant just grind their way into it, or it will at least take even longer for less skilled players to grind their way in.

You’re right. The numbers don’t lie. And i believe other posts have mathematically explained how people can get stuck with a MMR below their actual skill level.
I’ve been in situations where i double down double stomp a 1v2 on my engi while the rest of my team gets wiped on a 4v3. Why should i have to carry the pvptards? Because i trashed my MMR in S1 when i learned how to play? I think all you stellar pvp elites should have the dead weight on your teams. You’re fine with it cause the deck is stacked in your favor.
No matchups do NOT have to be fair. It’s the same in sports. Boxer gets knocked out in first or second round. Superbowl competitor gets roflmao stomped by the favorite. Germany got 7 to 1 over Brasil. Nothing competitive EVER always has to be fair. You people need to understand that. MMR is not a gurantee. So much can happen within the game itself. The player could be sick, frustrated, tired, drunk who knows. A critical point was missed in mini map. PC crashed. You got 2 warriors on your team. It’s all random, and there are no guarantee. People this season need to stop acting like they deserve something. Plenty of times it has been shown even in real life competitive environment that nothing is ever fair or goes “omg such a gud game” MMR does not guarantee amazing matches everytime.

i wouldn’t call myself elite. BUT! If you just learned how to play in s1 you shouldnt be good enough to carry or make it to legendary unless you are an extremely special player. A lot of us have been playing for years and some still wont make it to legendary.

I think a lot of you are missing my point. What’s done is done for season 2, win or lose. But season 3 won’t be a fresh start if it’s still using MMR from season 2 and 1, its irreversible damaged my MMR. It would be like a sports team that is forced to start with a -10 score at the start of the season, just because that team lost the year before. And the team that won gets +10 at the start. This does not happen. I think almost all start at 0 in the interest of fair play. but not GW2 PvP its rigged, corrupt and anything but fair, and I no longer want anything to do with it.
For me, there is no “so we had a bad run this season, we’ll pick it up on the next one” no, no we can’t. because that “bad run” is going to drag me down for the next season too, and the one after that and the one after that.

I’m not hoping to get to legendary. I’ve been stuck in t5 emerald for 3 weeks. every night i get to within 1 pip and then things get kitty. Seriously some nights i’ll get to within 1 pip 3 times. The wins are strong wins too. (More than 100pts) Then “magically” the last match before i get out of bloody emerald i get captain pvptard on my team. EVERY kittenING TIME!!!

I was in the same position for 2 weeks. Its amazing the way the matchmaker put me with people who don’t know how to play every single time I got to within 1 pip of sapphire ( almost like it was by design). I took a weeks break got into a good group when I came back and got into sapphire with only a couple more losses. Of course when I reached sapphire I then had another losing streak with braindead groups and said enough was enough and quit the season. It remains to be seen whether I come back for next season.

I doubt it, I’ve been consistently holding 2v1s allowing my team to outnumber on the other points. I just think I probably don’t belong in emerald or even sapphire. My guess is I’ll probably hit ruby and get stuck or slowly climb out. And if that happens I won’t attribute it to anything other than my own lack of skill.
You can say it’s your teams fault etc but after enough games it stops being that and the common denominator is you.

Not really true. Like in my legend games I can have a 90% lose rate and then later on an 8 game winstreak. Team mates matter a lot in pvp, even ESL players can lose games if they have a bad team.

Even if I try again in season 3, with renewed vigour, I can’t get my legs back. My W/L ratio can’t be fixed, it’s over for me. I’ll just have to close the door on something I once enjoyed, but can never get back.
With the amount of complaints they are getting I doubt the matchmaking in season 3 will be the same.
The part that upsets me is the HUGE contrast between my main account and my alt account.
As you might imagine I spent a lot of time ‘just playing’ on my main account, my alt acct. however is where I’m basically 100% all over my profession and dominating.|
My alt acct has had the easiest ride.
The mistake would seem to be that I didn’t just 100% optimal play style on my main. Words like ‘variety, testing, experimentation, fun!?’ are a big fail in season 2.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
You’re all missing the point. Its a team. One man, regardless of skill cannot carry a team. However, one man can sink a team. In addition, a coded system can impose penalties on players for losing.
How do you all explain that I had a 100+ losing game streak and got stuck at emerald tier 1 for 3 weeks, and tanked my mmr/win/loss ratio, and had to spend countless days teaching brand new players how to pvp while being pitted against pro league teams of 3 and 4 (I was in solo q) that blew thru the system early in seas 2. At that time, people told me, after years of pvping on gw, that I was in the tier/div I belonged.
I am now 3 pips from diamond.
Tell me, am I where I belong now in ruby cuz of my skill, or was I stuck in emerald tier 1 w. a humongous losing streak for weeks cuz I’m really a tier 1 emerald skill level player? Which is it, cuz it can’t be both. My skill alone cant explain both a rise to almost diamond (which I hope to hit before end of seas) and a huge losing streak that kept me near the bottom for weeks of very frustrating and demoralizing play.
There are many posts, including this one, which clearly show the system is designed to have losses beget losses, and wins beget wins ad infinitum. To punish losing players by stacking the deck against them is cruel.
Even if we assume that everyone at the bottom, or suffering a losing streak deserves it, the system then penalizes them further – its kinda like taking all the worst people, throwing them in a pit, throwing in potentially much better opponents (according to all of you naysayers) and then tying anvils on the backs of the losers and telling them to now fight their way out of the pit. This is what people are complaining about the inherent unfairness of the coded system itself. Get a clue. Its a coding issue. Its an extra liability that the coding has placed on losing players.
And remember, a team can lose for countless reasons, none of which may have anything to do with anyone’s skill – think dc’s, emergency afks, accepting gold to lose, deliberately losing for friends, teaching pals how to play in duos cuz u don’t care about pvping, being brand new to pvping on a free acct, facing a pro team, afkers, frozen skills/lags/stucks/glitches, teammates w/ underpowered or vanilla builds, etc. etc.
You mmr hell deniers all just wish your easy breezy rides to the top were truly indicative of your personal skill. That might be true. But it just as easily might be total bs, and like you all always say to me, maybe I’m not as good a player as I thought I was, and maybe, neither r u. Maybe ur not as good as u think u r and ur high div placement is not really indicative of ur skill (which explains ruby, diamond and legend blow outs).

“@Eater of Peeps.9062 Most of those who were killing you mercilessly have already moved up to the next tier, in this case Diamond, it can even be said, Diamond is the new Ruby, and Ruby is the new Sapphire.”
What I do, is just duo or trio queue.
That partially solves the random people who drag me down problem. Plus I have people on my team who I actually want to play with.

You are a trash pvp player if you are in emerald/sapphire and you try even now to get out of there! Against pro players, huhhh; I’m legendary x1, and I still don’t call my self pro player, there are players who are even legendary x11, try to play against a full legendary team, and win it, while you are all in diamond, now that’s a real challenge, and that’s how I got to legendary. Now I got 6 pips in legendary, and won’t stop! The biggest issue is the legendary solo thieves, rarely they are good, or help in team fights. Tell me again about playing against pro players/teams, you never done it, trust me! I think with my legendary x1 I’m a normal player, who still has learning to do! And you at emerald and sapphire are world class, please tell me more!

Do the pros play ranked? Didn’t they have to go through amber-emerald-sapphire-ruby-diamond-legendary and on and on? Didn’t they start at the same time as everyone else? Didn’t these lowly pvp scrubs get their sweet little pvp faces bashed in? I was there. I saw it. It wasn’t pretty. And now they all have brain damage. Maybe ur not as good as u think u r and ur high div placement is not really indicative of ur skill (which explains ruby, diamond and legend blow outs).
You can grind your way in to ruby… which sounds like is exactly what you did…. so yes you probably belong in ruby.
Ive been pvping more than 14 yrs on gw (my primary thing to do on both games) and since beta on both. I’m hardly a noob or a newbie to gw pvp. I didn’t grind to my 54% win loss ratio last season (began seas 2 at this level) any more than u did. I have had a much easier time going thru ruby than I ever did thru emerald. And btw, it was an absolutely horrible, demoralizing experience being stuck solo q in emerald w. players who were brand new or clueless or vanilla against, many times, premades synced on ts quickly on their way to legend at my expense.
I will say this to u. If this system proves I was stuck in emerald, cuz I suck cuz my losses only begat me more losses (losers are paired with losers against winners), and now I’m in ruby only cuz I did nothing but grind, and I need to face reality that I am not as good a player as I thought I was, then I would say that the same system should make you realize that your wins got you more wins (winners are paired with winners against losers) and your easy short grind to wherever you are should make you realize that perhaps you are not as good a player as you think you are just cuz you are in an upper division with a winning train ride ticket to the top.
So um, yah w/e.
I love how people at the top got their cuz they’re good, but those of us stuck at the bottom for w/e reason eventually got to the top, not cuz we’re good but because, and only because we stuck it out via grinding and eventually got there via luck or carry or persistence or w/e (things this new system was specifically designed to negate). LOL
Face it bud, if the system reveals I’m not that good, it also reveals ur just not that good either.

Please tell me more emerald/sapphire players about playing against pro players…. wait what?! You play against pro players?! That means that you alone are pro to, but your team mates are trash only…. do you even see what you wright?! Solo 75%, 25% duo-trio. MMR is hell, but if you really know you deserve more, you get more, last season I was diamond, now legendary, maybe in season 3 I will be legendary x5, what’s stopping me, my own ego, once I believed in my self that I can get legendary I got it! Now I got 6 pips in legendary, and won’t stop! The biggest issue is the legendary solo thieves, rarely they are good, or help in team fights. PvP is team fight not 1vs1, every idiot can 1vs1 or 2vs2, but to play a strategy/tactic, they can’t, that’s why you are all in emerald/sapphire, no matter how good you are in 1vs1, the biggest problem is to know were to be, and why, who to support, how to flag someone, res someone, and I think you are trash at it!
And yes, there are trash players in legendary too, that’s why there are x7 x11 legendary players!
Tell me again about playing against pro players/teams, you never done it, trust me! I think with my legendary x1 I’m a normal player, who still has learning to do! And you at emerald and sapphire are world class, please tell me more!Do the pros play ranked? Didn’t they have to go through amber-emerald-sapphire-ruby-diamond-legendary and on and on? Didn’t they start at the same time as everyone else? Didn’t these lowly pvp scrubs get their sweet little pvp faces bashed in? I was there. I saw it. It wasn’t pretty. And now they all have brain damage. So be nice to scrubs, it was on there faces that you climbed to your upper-middle-elite spot in the pvp ladder of greatness. I’m stoked i finally got to saphire so kitten off!

Days 1 and 2 of the season were hardly a level playing field or fair. Why didn’t anyone warn us solo quers that pushing the enter button those days would tank our mmrs/win/loss ratios. Many pro teams of 4 blew thru on ts, synced, coordinated builds, rerolls up the wazoo (while many learned for the first time that you could even reroll and should) while our teams consisted of 100% soloers, many on vanilla builds or brand new to pvp cuz they were on free alt accts, not on ts w/ only 1 char to play so reroll not an option) and other ridiculous kitten.
Hardly a level playing field. Why didn’t ppl tell ppl not to play, and to let the premades level up quickly against themselves. If I had just waited a week to play, or even 3 days, I am sure I would have had the win train experience so many ppl at the top r so happy w/ rt now. The loss logjam I experienced at emerald was very real and was definitely the result of a skewed system, and nothing else.
And btw, all of you at the top w/ easy breezy rides to the top ought to think before you blast ppl stuck at the bottom. Having a loss streak of 65 or more consecutive losses is not even mathematically possible w/o a skewed system, and having to experience that phenomenon is very demoralizing. Making the players feel bad with your words on top of the system punishing them in addition to their possible bad skill or bad luck or bad teammates or w/e exigencies led to a long losing streak makes people quit the game, and everyone suffers.
Please stop being so mean (not directing this to post to which I am replying) to all of u out there who r so callous and indifferent to the very real frustration and demoralization many ppl are experiencing for the first time in gw pvp history (and needlessly too, for no good reason except ambitious but over-generalized software coding).
if anyone is getting that frustrated or demoralized maybe pvp just isnt for you because you are correct 65 consecutive losses is not mathematically possible with the system. SO if that is happening its not the system.

That’s not what I said. I said losing 65 consecutive games or more is not mathematically possible UNLESS you have a skewed system. It is the system. Its ONLY the system’s coding and nothing else. And it is happening.

you say its the system i say it can not possibly be the systems fault if your losing that many games in a row your afking or you are the worst player in game (i realize this probably isnt you with that losing streak so im not saying you are bad or anything)

Seriously what has happened? I know I at least had a decent MMR, get matched with the absolute worst teams the last two days.
Did you break matchmaking again?

I had a 100+ consecutive loss streak on days 1 and 2 of seas 2 – stuck in emerald tier 1. Now in ruby. You are right. I am not bad. You are wrong. It is the system. Only a skewed system could produce results like this – no one on a random basis alone could possibly get results like this unless the system is skewed.
I am not the worst player in the game – which is why I am in ruby after tanking my mmr in emerald (due to many factors I have mentioned elsewhere ad nauseam), yet my abnormal “stuck in mmr hell” losses were very real and very demoralizing and not fun. I never afk and report everyone who does. What now?

Lol I could say that I’ve started suddenly to get teammates that don’t even communicate. Probably bad luck and a lack of people with my MMR on my current rank.

At first the season sounded very promising but after lots of big losing streaks (lots of people reported losing streaks way bigger than even mine) it isn’t so great anymore. It needs a complete scrapping, not a major overhaul since that would imply some base of the original remains intact, but a complete scrapping. I don’t care about staying in ruby, I just want the wins I’m due for already it isn’t fair to always be on the low end of the MMR fence. They say you can’t win if you don’t play but guess what? With a system where your team is determined by MMR, which goes down with each loss not playing at all is a vastly superior alternative to very probably losing.

LOLOLOLO
Aren’t you the same guy that said to me, when I was stuck in emerald – you probably belong in emerald – that’s why you’re stuck there.
I’m not stuck in ruby. What a joke.
