Macro reports
I’d assume they’ll review your logs and decide if you are pressing buttons in a way that a person could actually do manually or not.
In case you don’t know, if you have one button programmed to send more than one button code at a time, you are macroing.

Would this be the point where I start fearing I might be superhuman?!
Don’t worry, nobody would call you superhuman for being good at gw2…
several people have apparently reported me for using Macro’s.
How do you know about these reports?

People tend to say something unkind when they are about to report someone :P
‘’Macro Ele.. Reported’’
I just hope that ANet will check reported players first, because there is no ’’macro’’ report button. I assume they are going with the ’’botting’’ subject.
Have a mouse with programable keys as well..
As long as you keep it to one button one action it’s fine.
I have utlities and elite on mouse instead of around wasd.
Is there even a macro report option? It would be a very stupid thing to try and track down.

no its still missing.. same with report option for exploiting.. u know its so hard to do it, but we get a lfg-report option. :/
The biggest compliment any gamer can get is to be called a hack/macro player when you are NOT hacking/macro playing. Kill them with kindness, thank them for the compliment and kill them again.

Haha, it is actually giving me a smile yes! :P I was just a bit concerned if it actually had any negative sides

i think maybe i did not communicate effectively; i meant it’s not realistically possible to figure out if someone is using macros, since the only way to detect the possibility of macros is that skills are always used at same millisecond, which could just be avoided by introducing random variation pauses. so this whole thread is pointless
They don’t even stop people scripting 3-4 bots in servers and we are worrying about getting falsely nailed for macros?

the function isnt there to decide only as hint for anet-members to check.

i just finished explaining how there wasn’t anything that could be checked

well its obv. that the variation pauses are at a certain delta, that cant be changed. so the whole combo is still in a certain maximum and minimum timeframe and will still be completed regardless if necess. or not. there are also ways to check what programms are running clientside and what was generating the input.
tl;dr: so there are time borders that cant be passed, ways to check the input, the variation and the completion.
hooma u are wasting ur time, anything that could be considered “human” can be replicated easily
Chances are really high you are using a macro. The reports are extremely probable to be coming from experienced players with high rank and very many games at active.I believe players that played 6000+ matches have encountered players using gaming mouses aswell, chances are 50% of them use them also so they can very well tell the difference.Or maybe you can just claim to be the 1st good player at pressing mmo mouse buttons since the launch of gw2,hey it took you one year and half but we finally have the honor.
Newbies or bad pvpers have no ideea about what is going on so they can’t even tell the difference if it happens to them to actually start a report.
I wish a report macro option would be implemented since botting is way too wide range and they will never look for actual macro logs except specified in a former petition but that is rare.
My personal opinion only.
I’d be careful even looking like you are macroing because you don’t want anet to think you are exploiting. Anet has a reputation for quickly and thoroughly dealing with PvP exploiters.

except the failure rate, thats why u use a macro. so if u has as example a log how succesfull you complete the combo and that is nearly 100% i can tell either the combo is super easy or you using a macro.

Okay! From this day! I will no longer play on my Ele because ANet might think I’m using Macro’s! I shall reroll Warrior immediatly!
Couple months ago there was a video of an ele who 100-0 some ranger on treb in under a few seconds and people said that person was a known macro user but you can’t really prove that.
previously rank 2 on old leaderboards

is macroing bad? makes your playing a lot easier. i use it on wow since the million of skills on my skill bar. i even have 1 button macro who unloads all your cooldown on the target lol.

Macro’s often require the game to support them or at least optimize them. Gw2 issued a steel series keyboard boosting, “36 macro’s.” When i questioned this and asked if they meant hotkeys, the thread received no response. Generally speaking macro’s in a game of this nature(where pre and after cast times exist) aren’t easy to execute and can be detrimental towards play style if a macro fires off all skills, but completely misses. The ultimate truth is that the PvP community in any game generally has an ugly element when it comes to anything leaderboarded. If your good and beat people above your rank they will tend (not always.) Get angry with you because you have reminded them they are not god. However, even if it is clear your not using macro’s then get ready for, “Lag/your build is OP/my cat walked across the keyboard/obscenity in general.”
Don’t believe what anyone says, A-net generally is pretty fair about leaving legit players alone if they believe everything is aboard. If you’re above board then things will be fine.

Like reprimanding Skyhammer Glory exploiters by giving them access to easily obtain hundreds upon hundreds of Gold.
