For the last few weeks I have run into a lot of people using macros. Most notably elementalist players. They fire off 10 skills in 1 second and insta down me.

Why is this possible LOL?

The game doesn’t allow this due to global icd. A decently skilled ele, mesmer or thief can chain 4-5 skills and drop 10-15k on you in under 2 seconds though.

? ele can cast 3 utils air attune air 2 and 3 and a channeled skill that all hit at the same time.

It is also possible for thieves to use 5 poisons + steal or 5 signets + Steal at the same time.

The game does allow it, AK does it

There’s no global CD in this game, a global CD is when you use a skill, other skills get on a set cooldown too.

There’s only cast time, so you can’t cast other skills at the same time, which does no apply to instant casts. and some cast time are way shorter then others, tons of skills have less then 1 second cast time. nothing is preventing you from setting a small delay in your macro.

It’s not that hard, I’ve taught multiple people (both random meet and friends) how to execute it. All you need is a mouse that map one key to F3

Take a look at the normal scepter Fire attunement burst:
1) [optional] press 2 cast Dragon Tooth
1*) starting position: place your index finger on R, your middle finger on 3, your pinky finger Q. On the right hand, place your thumb on the button that switch to Air attunement.
2) use your middle finger to press 3 to cast Phoenix, aiming it a little bit behind the enemy. Your finger is on key 3 now, don’t move it, keep it there. Your pointing finger should press R at this time to fire off an Arcane Wave.
3) while Phoenix is firing, press your mouse button to switch into Air attunement. On the left hand, press Q to cast Lightning Flash right on the emeny. Immediately after pressing Q, move your finger up a little bit so it’s on key 2.
4) now using your middle finger to press 3, your index finger to press E, your pinky finger on. it doesn’t need to be at the same time, you can spam it.

All the bursts landed at the same time, and on the enemy’s screen, it looks like you casted 10 spells in one time and they are instantly down.

ive got a better one (not really efficient combo just for lols)
.Have s/f with fresh air ,precasted rockbarrier AND HAVE AIR ON CD.
Cast phoenix behind and while it fires swap to earth-> flash->arcane1 (recharge air through fresh air so it bypass global cd) ,earth2,earth4 , air att, air2 ,arcane2

I call it the phoenix combo 2.0 and it has a nearly zero casting time..I was so eager to pull it reliably in real games (lol) that i mapped it in all my f buttons so id only need to roll my finger over them when i saw the criteria would have met..
