It’s called Watching RU. U should do that in the future.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
I can also confirm that Magic Find will affect the Npc boxes(Example Skelk Reward box, Bear Reward Box) on the reward tracks! Those boxes are there to represent players killing that kind of mob in PvE, but without being in PvE. As loot from killing a monster in PvE is affected my magic find we wanted a similar system in PvP so we came up with these Npc Loot Boxes. So salvage all the things and get ready for April 15th!!!!

How many boxes will you get for completing a notch on the track? JW how it compares to PvE b/c i can kill roughly 50 bears in the time it takes to finish a match
(that’s hyperbole i don’t actually know how leet my bear-killing skills are)

I believe it’s 2 chests worth 5 rolls each. So that’s about 10 enemies killed, assuming all of them were to drop something.
Does that mean all the match win chests will be removed on the 14th?
When you do receive Npc reward box on a reward track you will receive 2 of them and each box counts towards 5 “Npc” kills. So opening the 2 boxes is like killing 10 bears. Also to make sure the boxes feel rewarding you are guaranteed 1 green per box so 2 greens total.

Hiya, I have two questions!
Is the guaranteed item only a green, or can it be any tier starting from green to anything higher? Like, is there any chance that we get a gold or exotic out of the guaranteed green roll?
And is there any “special” npc chest, even if at higher track tiers, that gives us a guaranteed gold or higher tier?

Okay, cool. Would’ve preferred yellows because dem ectos, but that still sounds like it could be pretty good. Would like to know what an entire track of rewards looks like exactly, but I’m guessing we’ll have to wait until patch day for that.

Also this!

yes, the minimum you will get is green but there is a chance that you can get better quality item.
And is there any “special” npc chest, even if at higher track tiers, that gives us a guaranteed gold or higher tier?
There are specific rewards that guarantee exotics on dungeon tracks.
Fantastic. Thanks, Hugh.

I think that these rewards are not good enough. I will be rank 80. I don’t care about 10 skelk kills every 15 minutes (can do way better in pve obviously), and leadebarod is just broken in this format.
How will you motivate me to play? Other than GW1 style tourneys and proper ladder and season that you must add!
Answer: be more creative with the rewards. Porous bones, globs of gobby goo and occasional t5 mat is not a good motivation.
Will Magic Find specific to a character—such as if your character has “Magical Infusion” in its PVE Amulet—affect the PVP chests?
Also, will other Magic Find boosts from Guild Upgrades and Banners affect the PVP chests?
Thank you.
Found this via the dev tracker – this is PvP chests only, I assume? Not any chests in PvE?

Correct. The new pvp chests are meant to simulate monster’s drops, thus why they get affected by magic find like normal drops.
Thanks for the clarification, that’s what I had guessed.
i am still confused
what do u mean with skelk and bear chests?
are they part of the eight paths?
and mean “like killing 10 bears” like killing 10 player with bear rank?
which means that plsyer with higher rank give more points? that would be uncool for high ranker. the foes would mark the one with highest rank and hunt them to hell just for the points

He means, if you were in PvE environment – you kill 10 bears, you would get 10 claws.
When you get the chest from the PvP reward track, amongst other goodies you will receive 10 bear claws (depending on your chest and tier).
In other words PvE → PvP vice versa.

Which is totally borked if you ask me. There are no guaranteed exotics in any dungeon (unless you count the exotics we can BUY with dungeon tokens, but they’re getting dungeon tokens too, right?). PvPers should be subjected to the same crap PvErs get. Dungeon chests generally only give blues and if you get a green it’s a Minor sigil from that dungeon. PvPers shouldn’t be guaranteed better rewards than anyone else gets. Give their chests the same loot table we get.

Are you serious or joking?
Dungeons are still by far the fastest way to grind out a set of gear (unless you do both at the same time), I don’t see why PvErs complain about that.

Serious….why should any one game mode get guaranteed exotics when the other modes don’t? All modes should have the same opportunity to get the same things. After reading I see why MF affects boxes in PvP and that’s only fair (not that MF does anything).

Maybe because a dungeon path gives 60 tokens, 1g, 20-30 NPC kills, 3 champ kills, and 3 chests and takes 5-8minutes.
While a PvP box gives 0 tokens, 0g, 10 NPC kills, 0 champ kills, and takes 20 minutes?

BAM. You just hit the nail on the head, good sir. Though times feel off (to me), it’s entirely true. A guaranteed 4 days to complete a track for one piece of exotic gear for dungeons (i.e. not weapons) when it could take one to two days in PVE. Really just giving PVPers a reward that -everyone- uses now. Don’t get it twisted, folks, it’s still very fair. :)
(Edit: kitten , wrote PVE as PVP. That would have been confusing.)

Well you get some pittance of coinage from the match but you sir have a valid point. I haven’t tried a dungeon track yet so this all makes sense! Thanks!
what is a good way to know which boxes are loot boxes (affected by mf) and which are not?
some boxes have “loot” in their title, while others (eg “catacomb weapon box”) don’t. is this how they can be discriminated?

I’m pretty sure that any chest you get directly from a reward track is affected by MF - the exceptions being the weapon/armour chests that give you a choice of exotic gear (like the Catacomb Weapon Box), and the champion boxes that you find inside the track-reward boxes.
If in any doubt, type "/wiki " in chat, shift-click the item in your inventory, and hit enter - this will take you to the wiki page for the item so you can find out what it does.

Another important thing is the tokens - a few dungeon runs will give enough tokens to pick up a piece of exotic gear from the dungeon vendors (currently at the vigil keep in gendarr).
Dungeon tracks still need to give tokens so PvP-only players can get Legendaries’ gifts (’only’ requiring full map completion and a bunch of wvw badges from outside sPvP).
The exotic gear drops may not actually be as good as giving players more tokens - with tokens, they chould choose how to spend them, but gear boxes force the player to choose a reward from a set list. I guess since dungeon weapons cost varying numbers of tokens, it’s a comparatively cheaper way to get exotic greatswords to forge?
