Make Coliseum smaller for non-tourny play.
In this current meta, “big maps” makes punishes low-mobility professions and make it even harder to recover back from. This makes people make mistakes more often because they just don’t pay attention to how important an objective is against a certain opposition.
I don’t think they need to make the maps smaller (most of them are the same size, other than a few shortcuts only 2 professions can use) but rather reduce the mobility certain high-mobility classes have so its easier for low-mobility classes to actually be able to answer and possibly recover.
Honestly, I like having a mix of big and small maps, changes things up. I am a Guardian so I lack mobility in general. I partially make up for that with a rune of the lynx. My favorite map is Coliseum.
As far as team composition goes, I almost always have someone with a decent amount of mobility on my team. Usually a thief, sometimes a mesmer, occasionally the fastest is a ranger. But every team in the past 150 or so I’ve played this season has had one of the three on it. Team comp isn’t always great (sigh 2 thieves?) but most of the time it can be worked around with tactics and communication (non-toxic preferably).
Seems like tactics and communication are the biggest problem I deal with. People decide they are going to do something no matter what (the Guard who always rushes mid no matter how many are there and where his teammates are, the warrior who goes to cap home at the start when we have a thief because he is tired of dying mid, the mesmer who rushes far repeatedly only to feed points because she can’t win the 1v1 vs the bunker Guard and then gets +1ed instead of rotating). People see mistakes and instead of trying to lead the team they just flame the team for not being good enough.
