A big problem that exasperates the Condition issue is that a Power build requires 3 offensive stats, Power, Critical Strike Damage and Precision.

Condition Damage only requires one stat, allowing the Condition user to stack a disproportionate amount of defensive stats for the offensive pressure he has. Hence I propose that Condition Duration becomes a stat on gear so there is a forced choice between offense and defense, just like with Power builds.

You are totally wrong. Conditions need a combination of conditiondamage, condition curation and crit chance to stack a huge amount of conditions.

Additionally you need defense to survive a bit so you condition deal their damage, because they don’t work like direct damage and all the damage of a skill is there at cast. They have to mature like good wine.

But a set with condition duration, precision and codnition damage would be nice. Some kind of an equivalent to Zerker gear.

actually condition build requires two stats at the moment, they also need precision. But you are right, move the condition duration from runes and sigils to armor would make playing a condition build more complex and to maximize the damage they have to choose, either go for condi duration or take defense, to see the impact of the conditions.

The amount of defense is not disproportionate. Unless you think 285 vit is worth 15% crit damage?

They simply don’t have an option to ditch it for an equivalent amount of offense. If they did, you can guarantee they would.

Power has a much larger effect on a power builds output than precision and crit damage, so shouldn’t we see more soldiers amulet builds being run if the amulet stat weighting favors defensive stats?

I would love to have expertise on an amulet, but if you think it would somehow weaken condition builds to replace carrion or rabid with it, you’re badly mistaken. Even if the amulet+jewel combo was only 10% duration, to keep it approximately on par with the 20% crit damage amulets+jewel combos. If you went further and removed the 330 points of defensive stats a berserker equivalent would have and added the extra 10% duration that would equate to, well, I’d like that even more
