Make level 1 characters able to play sPvP?
I wouldn’t mind if they did this but i kinda see it as a non issue personally. It doesn’t take much time at all to complete the tutorial. IMO it would take too much effort for something that would have a minor impact.
Apparently you can, but have to enter the mists from Lions Arch; so I’m told. Kinda odd but its possible then.. well at lvl 2 though I guess. ;s

You can’t do that until you complete the intro mission. Until you finish it you are locked into the instance. That said it takes like 5 minutes max, so I don’t see a big problem.

true, it is not a huge deal, but it is a mild annoyance and seems simple enough to fix. its hard to switch between say 3 different professions seamlessly without wasting 15 minutes on the intros.
So please anet, if its an easy fix, do it. If its complicated, of course I understand.
I agree. It was kind of irritating when I wanted to test how the warrior shouts sounded on each race before picking.
It’s a minor annoyance for sure. If your char has PvP unlocked, why not let it go straight there. The gate to LA can be closed off to it and leaving PvP could send it back to the tutorial.
I had to make a Mesmer for the daily and run it thru the instance to do that today. Not a huge deal, no. But if it’s PvP you want to be doing on a “throw away char” then it takes time and that adds up.
ANet may give it to you.

You can totally skip the tutorial. But it’s less than 5 minutes anyway so who cares?!
How about the ability to make PvP-only characters like in GW1?
Edit: reread OP’s post, I think the 1 minute it takes to get level 2 is a small price to pay…

Does being level 2 instead of level 1 in PvE make a difference when the char goes to PvP?

When you consider the fact that all you have to do is just get out of the first story instance the game throws you into immediately (which, while in, you have access to almost nothing except your bank and the tp if you have them in consumable form), and it automatically levels you to level 2 upon completion, yeah, I would say it makes a heck of a big difference.
Seriously, the story instance can be done in a minute or two if you are quick about it, and it takes another minute to get to LA and go through the portal.
That being said, all the level gating the NPE brought needs to die in a really big hole of burning fire and demon excrement.

You say it makes a big difference. I’m not understanding what difference it makes to a PvP char to be level 2 in PvE instead of level one. (Especially to a PvP char that will be deleted the same day). Please explain that.

It’s simple. You cannot access PvP until you get out of the first personal story instance. You have never been able to access PvP until you get out of it. So, by getting out of it, you can access PvP. You are auto leveled to level 2 as a side effect. Since you cannot access PvP while you are level 1 (aka, still in the instance), it seems it makes a big difference to suddenly be level 2 and have access.

Did you even read the thread? It was asking to access the PvP area while inside the starter instance. You only confirmed the status quo.

Yes, I read the thread. I am simply stating that this is the way it is, and considering the way it is, you have to be level 2. It’s not like it’s difficult at all to get out of that story instance. I was sharing my opinion, just as many others have, and will.

Ok. You’re confirming the status quo is fine with you. No one said it was difficult however, they said it was kind of annoying and wished for a change to remove an annoyance.
ANet may give it to you.
Yes, I think the way it is works just fine. Again, just my opinion.
If this was a major PvP game, which focused mainly on the PvP aspect, and not so much on the PvE aspect, I could understand the annoyance. But it’s not. It’s mostly a PvE game, with PvP aspects.
Now, I would see nothing wrong with adding the ability to make PvP only characters and lock them out of PvE all together like it existed in Guild Wars, but I cannot see reprogramming character creation just to remove a minor annoyance to a small portion of the player base who want to avoid a few extra minutes of game play just to get to PvP faster on a new character. Seems like a waste of resources to me when there are larger issues that need to be addressed.
