Make mesmers less annoying
totally agree. If you see a stream and the player says : Oh my gosh. Then you know he is fighting against a mesmer and got stun+ shatter or perma stun/daze + phantasm or moa
I agree with this. When a huge group (even if its mostly new players) play a class because of the handicap it gives them of being hard/annoying to fight, it’s bad for the game. These players aren’t learning skill, they’re learning to hide behind an overpowered mechanic that isn’t numbers based, but has everything to do with brain power (which isn’t bad to an extent, but Mesmers have this far over other professions which is where the problem lies). On top of that they have some of the most overpowered combos, such as immobilize high damage attack WHILE being invulnerable the whole time, which can have a 25% uptime, on top of stealth and hiding behind clones, and either AI to do all the fight or incredible shatter burst that is also nearly impossible to avoid if used during the imaginary leap combo. Other classes just don’t have that type of synergy and mind game opportunity, and that’s what makes it so attractive and overpowered. Then you throw on one of the most OP 1v1 elites in the game, and there you go…

I’ll always be of the opinion that if you are going to have AI as part of a class mechanic then it needs to be about utility (player controlled as much as possible), and not passive mindless damage; ranger pets and memser phantasms are the most obvious here with both capable of hitting for 4-5k+ while the player runs around. Since what we have is the latter, Anet can’t just go about nerfing the specs and say job well done without totally breaking a class (PVE plays a part here too remember).
So, we’ll see what happens. I can’t play those specs, even though they are low risk and high reward 1v1. You may not win every fight, but you won’t have to try hard unless you are fighting a good player. Of course the argument is that they are only strong 1v1 and not in tspvp, but it just won’t fly if the game is supposed to grow… that is just reality.
That mesmers are overpowered behind any possible logic..it’s clear, you just need to watch at the number of players going for mesmer and you’ll see there is a problem
