I’ve been working on this a bit over the days trying tweak some of the classes into a better place, if even a couple of these things get into the official patch I would be happy

Profession Skills
General:
• Chills skill cooldown reduction changed from 66% to 33% to match alacrity, movement reduction changed to 25% to make it less then cripple
• Condition removal skills now priorities damage dealing conditions first
• Boon removal skills priorities longest duration boons first
• Removed Clerics Amulet from pvp and replaced with new 4 stat amulet power, healing, concentration and toughness
• Added sigil of cleansing, sigil of cruelty, (sigil of ruthlessness and rending) (Hot only) to pvp
Elementalist
• Soothing Ice internal cool down changed from 10 seconds to 15 seconds
• Cleansing water now as a 5 second internal cooldown
• Elemental bastion swapped with tempestuous aria
• Elemental bastion now just does the healing on aura application
• Tempestuous aria now reduces shout cooldowns by 20% and grants 250 bonus ferocity when you have an aura applied
• Air overload base damage reduced by 15%
Engineer
• Electro whirl base damage reduced by 20% and cool down increased to 9 seconds
• Rocket charge cooldown increased to 15 seconds
• Shock shield cooldown increased to 25 seconds
• Thunderclap cooldown increased to 30 seconds
• Defense field duration reduced to 3 seconds
• Blast gyro cool down increased to 25 seconds now causes 3 stacks of burning for 5 seconds on target
• Shredder gyro now removes boons per strike interval
• Sneak gyro cool down increased to 72 seconds
• Self regulating defenses as been changed to trigger elixir c instead of elixir s

Guardian
• Scepter auto attack speed increased by 15%
• Piecing light removes the daze on traps and instead causes blind for 3 seconds
• Shelter is now a consecration skill. Shelter creates a light field that applies aegis every 1 second and heals allies per pulse, 5 targets lasts for 3 seconds
• Shield of absorption now grants a small heal for every projectile it absorbs. Base heal 50
• Signet of resolve changed the condition remove to condition boon convert
• Signet of mercy changed the active to grant 5 seconds of resistance to the revived ally and reduced its cooldown to 120 seconds and cast time to 2 ¾ seconds
• Bow of truth now shoots enemies damaging and striping a boon from them every 5 seconds. The command effects duration as been reduced to 6 seconds and healing increased by 20%. The bow now benefits from the spirit weapon trait to cause burning

Mesmer
• Chronophantasma now summons the phantasms with only 25% of their health
• Tides of time as had its cool down reduction removed and now 30 seconds base and does not return to user
• Continuum Split has had its function changed, for every second the rift is open your health increases by 10% of max health, your endurance goes up by 10 and your skills recharge reduces by 10%. Split duration per clone is now 2 seconds for a total of 6 seconds. The rift is now 50% bigger and easier to see
• Evasive mirror now grants the mirror at the end of a dodge roll lasts for 2 seconds
• Mimic skill cool down reduced to 72 seconds
• Arcane thievery cool down reduced to 15 seconds now transfers only 1 boon and condition
• Prismic understanding, replaced might with 1 second of resistance
• Portal CD reduced to 40 seconds. Now a ground target skill with 1500 range (creates entry at your feet when exit is created, 1 second cast time, 5 second duration. Gives 1 second distortion on exit

Necromancer
• Reverted the sceptre auto attack boon corrupt
• Minions now degenerate health slowly
• Minions don’t count towards nearby deaths because they are already dead
• Death nova no longer leaves a poison field behind but instead the minions do aoe explosion damage. When you are downed you cast Corrosive Poison Cloud at your location
• Life blast now life steals on hit
Ranger
• Ancient seeds reduced to 3 seconds duration
• Celestial form can now be activated if over 10% full and lasts 1 second per 10% for a total of 10 seconds. If ended early keeps current percentage.
• Reduced some of the druids base healing on some staff skills
• Spirit of nature now creates a light field when activated that pulses to revive allies and remove a condition for each pulse for 5 seconds

Revenant
• Pulsating Pestilence changed to give a 5 sec buff that increases damage and condition damage by 2% when a condition is applied to you. Stacks 5 times for a total of 10%
• Bolstered anguish changed to increase condition durations by 10%
• Replenishing despair base healing applied increased by 100%
• Rejuvenating assault now sends out a healing aoe pulse instead of creating orbs
• Tranquil benediction changed to speed of the Centaur. While wielding a staff your movement speed is increased 25% when you have swiftness or super speed you take 10% less damage
• Grasping shadow now shadow steps through the mist to your foe and pulls them back to their current location 600 distance
• Precision strike changed to a leap skill (warriors sword 3 skill animation) knocks down foe for 1 second if it lands a critical hit, also inflicts 2 seconds of chill on hit. Energy cost increased to 10 cool down increased to 7 seconds does base damage 755
• Charged mists trait now grants might on legend swap. Might stacks increased to 5 stacks for 12 seconds
Thief
• Vault now costs 6 initiative to use and its damage is reduced by 10%
• Impacting disruption removed and replaced with Risk Taker. When you have less than 1 bar of endurance you gain 150 ferocity.
• Lead attacks reduced to 10 stacks

Warrior
• Mending changed to Banner of mending. Summons a banner that heals allies in the radius and removes a condition every 5 seconds. Base heal 350 effects up to 5 allies. 120 cooldown 90 duration.
• Cleansing ire given an internal cooldown of 2 seconds on the adrenaline gain
• Adrenaline health duration reduced to 10 seconds
• Distracting strikes and burst precision traits swapped round
• Defy pain changed to take 10% less damage when below 50% health
• “For great justice” cooldown reduced to 20 seconds
• “On my mark” now grants 5 seconds of vigor and stability to allies
• “Fear me” reduced cool down to 45 seconds
• Skull grinder. Removed blind, cripple and confusion. Doubled the bleeding stacks

While I love the way you’ve obliterated warriors and mesmers ( not really proud of myself) from any form of competitive play , I have to admit that most likely I would ALT F4 and delete all 50 giga of hard disk occupied by GW2 if anything similar to what you suggest would be implemented.

I actually somewhat like the warrior changes. Engi on the other hand is completely overboard. TCG did not even use the class when they won S2 finals, how can the class be considered that OP? I mean it’s a good bunker, sure. But that is kind of his purpose.

I’ll play along:
General Balance:
-Ports no longer proc effects from traps and aoe cc (ring/line of warding, test of faith, static field, etc.)
-Boon access reduced (boons should be present but not permanent, there are too many out there right now and it skews balance too much when you have to take into account how many perma boons are possible to achieve)
-Stealth removed from all classes except thief to allow for a change in interaction and behavior (stealth stripped but revealed not applied when you hit a block, evades behave the way they do now. S/d 3 will cycle using this interaction as well)
-CC access reduced significantly
-Overall condi access reduced and duration increase stats no longer exist in pvp (for boon and condi both). condi is split between pvp and pve (pve stays the same, pvp takes the pre stacking change approach and most are limited to 1 stack with confusion no longer having ticking damage)
-All base damage and healing reduced and scaling increased (forces people to invest into what they want to do, no more tanks hitting like zerkers)
-Thief, elementalist, and guardian health pools increased to match mesmer health pool
-All passive counter-cc traits removed (players should be rewarded for timing and landing cc properly, idiots should be punished for eating it)
-All passive low hp procs removed (people shouldn’t get freebies when it comes to combat, if you take too much damage you die learn to survive if that’s a problem for you)
-All passive procs on runes, sigils, and on hit traits removed (random procs have nothing to do with skill. Removing them is the best way to make the game more competitive and easier to understand.)
-Krait rune 6th effect dodgeable/blockable

Elementalist:
-All scepter autos have increased attack speed/shorter cast times to allow synergy with on cast healing signet and damage increased by 15% across the board
-Phoenix speed increased by 20-30%
-Ether renewal cast time reduced to 2 seconds, conditions cleansed reduced to 6
-Glyph of elemental power trigger chance increased to 33%, cd reduced to 40 sec
-Glyph of storms cd reduced to 45 sec
-Arcane shield cd reduced to 25-30 sec
-Armor of Earth cd reduced to 50 sec

Tempest (or things associated with it)
-Aura heals reduced by 30%
-Protection duration of elemental shielding reduced to 2 seconds
-Hardy conduit reduced to 10%
-Invigorating torrents reduced to 3 seconds per boon instead of 5

Thief
-Shadow shot damage reduced by 20%
-Auto attack damage reduced by 5% (dagger)
-Backstab buffed by 15-20%
-Unload might removed, damage buffed by 7%
-Body shot now rolls back and evades (similar to staff 3)
-Vital shot when p/p is equipped changes to remove bleeding and buff auto damage by 30% (stays the way it is now when p/d is equipped)
-Trickster recharge reduction removed and replaced with gain 1 stack of stability when you use a trick (5 sec)
-Withdraw returns to 15 sec cd
-Roll for initiative 45 sec cd
-Haste cd reduced to 50 sec
-Scorpion wire reliability issue fixed
-trapper’s respite cd reduced to 15 seconds (allows it to be used with any heal)
-deadly trapper gets a 5 sec internal cd (helps to stop extreme might stacking)
-Improvisation changed to recharge one random skill on your skill bar (allows good thieves to time their steals with certain skill recharges to gain the benefit they want) cd given of 40 seconds (once every 2 steals if the skill was used off cd)
-Practiced tolerance changed back to buff vitality instead of ferocity
-pain response regen duration reduced to 7 seconds
-upper hand regen duration reduced to 3 seconds cd increased to 3 seconds
-slight of hand recharge reduction now made baseline

Daredevil (or things associated with it)
-Impacting disruption damage reduced by 50% internal cd of 5 seconds
-lotus training condi durations halved and impacts changed so that each enemy may only be hit by 1 impact
-bound damage removed but leap finisher stays (should be a utility not a burst skill)
-Dash has a 3-5 sec cd on condi removal
-Bandit’s defense cd increased to 18 seconds

Warrior
-Defiant stance changed to behave like the glint heal
-Body blow only has an effect on interrupt
-Fast hands made baseline
-Nerfed version of adrenal health baseline (adrenal health trait removed)

Berserker (or things associated with it)
-Smash Brawler trait removed (too much spam with it)
-Quickness on Fatal Frenzy replaced with 5 might
-Bleed duration on Skull grinder halved
-Only 2 confusion stacks are applied per normal hit (4 if it interrupts)

Ranger
-Spike trap cd reduced to 30 seconds
-All base ranger pets become more reliable when it comes to hitting the target
-Pet base damage reduced by 7% (allows them to have similar damage to now because the pet will hit more often instead of missing the target)
-Pet stats now match that of the ranger rather than each pet having their own stats (will stop full bunker builds from being able to deal significant damage through their pets, but will make full glass builds very threatening as both the pet and the ranger will deal high damage but be very squishy)

Druid (or things associated with it)
-Ancient seeds cd increased to 20 seconds
-Primal echos no longer dazes
-Natural convergence no longer roots the player

Necromancer
-Boons are no longer corrupted by scepter auto
-Deathly swarm projectile moves 30% faster
-Corrupter’s fervor toughness per stack reduced to 20 duration increased to 10
-Vital Persistance baseline

Reaper (or things associated with it)
-Deathly chill bleed duration reduced to 5 sec

Guardian/DH
-I don’t have enough experience playing on this class to even take an informed guess at what needs to change. If some ideas are posted below I will add them to this

Engineer
-Rifle damage increased across the board
-Net shot projectile speed increased and reliability increased
-Shield 5 reduced to 30 sec cd
-Glue shot immob increased to 2 sec
-Grenade 5 made a poison field again
-Ground target bug fixed (the one that causes nade and mortar to fire into the ground and get no effect)

Scrapper
-Hammer damage reduced across the board
-Rocket charge only gives 1 leap finisher
-Final Salvo stability duration reduced to 3 seconds (gets an internal cd of 5 seconds)
-Gyros get a cast time of 1 second
-Bulwark, purge, and medic gyros cd increased to 30 sec

Mesmer
-Greatsword 2 gets it’s extra bounce back
-Greatsword auto damage increased by 5%
-Sword auto damage increased by 7%
-Blurred Frenzy damage increased by 7%
-Illusionary counter torment duration reduced to 5 seconds
-Confusing images confusion duration reduced to 6 seconds
-Main the disillusioned torment duration reduced to 4 seconds
-Mantra cast times reduced to 2 seconds

Chronomancer (or things associated with it)
-Continuum split no longer affects elites (as a result moa cd reduced to 100 seconds and time warp cd reduced to 100 seconds)

Revenant/Herald
-Given more condition clears through traits
-Direct damage mitigation reduced (fewer evades on weapon skills like surge of the mists and unrelenting assault and a cd of 5 seconds of the shiro evade)
-Facet of strength base might duration reduced to 10 seconds

PvP system changes:
-No class stacking in queues (premades will not be allowed to queue until all duplicate classes are changed)
-Profession based mmr introduced to make learning a new prof easier
-No swapping inside matches (both before and during will be locked)
-No more forcing players to 50% wins (if a player is good enough to win 99% of their matches then let them, don’t try to rig the system as it frustrates the good players forced to carry noobs and it frustrates newer players who feel they can’t contribute due to all their opponents being beyond their skill level)

There’s much more I could put in but it’d take forever and would drive myself and everybody else crazy so maybe I’ll add to this later but for now yeah this is what I’m leaving.

Luckily you are not in charge of balance you obviously are biased against a multitude of professions and implanting these changes would completely destroy several classes from competitive play.

Most urgent issues:
Ele:
Eles auras healing nerfed by 20%
Wash the pain away cool down up to 30 from 25
Cleansing water now has a 3 second icd.
Earth trait now @20%reduction from %33

Engineer:block no longer does damage,increase duration if block by 1sec.
Change hammer trait to 20 instead of 10. Remove the stab in evade portion of this skill.
Healing gyro now has 1/2 sec cast time.
Bulwark cd increased to 25 sec.
Add red aoe markings to acid bomb(egun#4)

Thief:
Add cd to pulmonary(3sec)
Increase cool down on bandits defense up to 20 sec.

Warrior-increase headbutt cd to 30secfrom 20
Remove confusion from mace f1 in zerker mode. Increase cd on zerker recharge to 4 sec
Nerf adrenal health by 10-20%

Guardian: Stab in shield of courage immediately reduce cd from 65 to 45
Remove projectile component of sword aa.
Increase sustain by adding a 25%proc somewhere.

Rev:equilibrium grants 5stacks of might and heals and gives vigor below threshold(no more hydro-equilibrium 1 shots) give precision strike bigger animation.

Necromancer:give staff marks different noticeable animations.stowing chilled to the bone no longer allows animation to continue.

Druid-reduce hp on bristle and smoke scale by 25%

Mesmer-make allies portals blue.
Runes:krait rune 6th bonus is now blockable

I would do much more but these are the most important changes

In general this would fasten the pace of the game while still keeping supportive roles viable and competitive and also would give dragon hunter a shot at being competitive.

This practically deals nothing for the class. Bottom dwelling guardians may get some plays, only because you suggest to nerf all other classes way more than guardian.

Yes, MM necro is a real problem… Why just don’t remove all minions from necro altogether? Minions already are in pathetic state and you suggest to nerfing them even more?
I will not call you troll, even if you are one, but i will suggest you to try to play MM necro in pvp. Especially against warriors, mesmers, druids, thieves and pretty much everyone except DH. They will wipe the floor with you before you even summon all your minions. Why you should play mm necro and engage with no minions? Because you suggest to make minions only effective when you just summoned them.

Meh. Some petty buffs. It would make Discipline into essential trait line just like Defense. Way to go for less build diversity.


Your suggestions will pretty much kill the game or make every ranked game 5 revenants vs 5 revenants. Every other class would be viewed as trolls and that would be true.

Hey, thank you very much. This patch notes imply that Scrapper now will only auto-attack for more than 50% of the fights because he got nothing else to do.

We don’t have 2 weapons to swap in and out.

With your changes on hammer, Engi goes on Riot to have “swap weapon”.

Hammer + Rifles would be great power based scrapper.
Hammer + PP would be great for condi based scrapper.
Hammer + PS would be great for CC based scrapper.

Profession Skills
General:
• Chills skill cooldown reduction changed from 66% to 33% to match alacrity, movement reduction changed to 25% to make it less then cripple

Then what does they point of chill would be? It is slightly better than cripple, they why even bother? Just remove chill altogether.

Elementalist
• Soothing Ice internal cool down changed from 10 seconds to 15 seconds
• Cleansing water now as a 5 second internal cooldown
• Elemental bastion swapped with tempestuous aria
• Elemental bastion now just does the healing on aura application
• Tempestuous aria now reduces shout cooldowns by 20% and grants 250 bonus ferocity when you have an aura applied
• Air overload base damage reduced by 15%

Any kind of nerfs are welcomed for this class.

Engineer
• Electro whirl base damage reduced by 20% and cool down increased to 9 seconds
• Rocket charge cooldown increased to 15 seconds
• Shock shield cooldown increased to 25 seconds
• Thunderclap cooldown increased to 30 seconds
• Defense field duration reduced to 3 seconds
• Blast gyro cool down increased to 25 seconds now causes 3 stacks of burning for 5 seconds on target
• Shredder gyro now removes boons per strike interval
• Sneak gyro cool down increased to 72 seconds
• Self regulating defenses as been changed to trigger elixir c instead of elixir s

Any kinds of nerfs are welcomed for this class.

Guardian
• Scepter auto attack speed increased by 15%
• Piecing light removes the daze on traps and instead causes blind for 3 seconds
• Shelter is now a consecration skill. Shelter creates a light field that applies aegis every 1 second and heals allies per pulse, 5 targets lasts for 3 seconds
• Shield of absorption now grants a small heal for every projectile it absorbs. Base heal 50
• Signet of resolve changed the condition remove to condition boon convert
• Signet of mercy changed the active to grant 5 seconds of resistance to the revived ally and reduced its cooldown to 120 seconds and cast time to 2 ¾ seconds
• Bow of truth now shoots enemies damaging and striping a boon from them every 5 seconds. The command effects duration as been reduced to 6 seconds and healing increased by 20%. The bow now benefits from the spirit weapon trait to cause burning

This practically deals nothing for the class. Bottom dwelling guardians may get some plays, only because you suggest to nerf all other classes way more than guardian.

Mesmer
• Chronophantasma now summons the phantasms with only 25% of their health
• Tides of time as had its cool down reduction removed and now 30 seconds base and does not return to user
• Continuum Split has had its function changed, for every second the rift is open your health increases by 10% of max health, your endurance goes up by 10 and your skills recharge reduces by 10%. Split duration per clone is now 2 seconds for a total of 6 seconds. The rift is now 50% bigger and easier to see
• Evasive mirror now grants the mirror at the end of a dodge roll lasts for 2 seconds
• Mimic skill cool down reduced to 72 seconds
• Arcane thievery cool down reduced to 15 seconds now transfers only 1 boon and condition
• Prismic understanding, replaced might with 1 second of resistance
• Portal CD reduced to 40 seconds. Now a ground target skill with 1500 range (creates entry at your feet when exit is created, 1 second cast time, 5 second duration. Gives 1 second distortion on exit

Wow. You failed do address any actual issues and just went straight to nerfing random things while buffing other random things.

Necromancer
• Reverted the sceptre auto attack boon corrupt
• Minions now degenerate health slowly
• Minions don’t count towards nearby deaths because they are already dead
• Death nova no longer leaves a poison field behind but instead the minions do aoe explosion damage. When you are downed you cast Corrosive Poison Cloud at your location
• Life blast now life steals on hit

Yes, MM necro is a real problem… Why just don’t remove all minions from necro altogether? Minions already are in pathetic state and you suggest to nerfing them even more?
I will not call you troll, even if you are one, but i will suggest you to try to play MM necro in pvp. Especially against warriors, mesmers, druids, thieves and pretty much everyone except DH. They will wipe the floor with you before you even summon all your minions. Why you should play mm necro and engage with no minions? Because you suggest to make minions only effective when you just summoned them.
God, your troll list is burning my eyes.

Ranger
• Ancient seeds reduced to 3 seconds duration
• Celestial form can now be activated if over 10% full and lasts 1 second per 10% for a total of 10 seconds. If ended early keeps current percentage.
• Reduced some of the druids base healing on some staff skills
• Spirit of nature now creates a light field when activated that pulses to revive allies and remove a condition for each pulse for 5 seconds

Any nerfs are welcomed for this class.

Revenant
• Pulsating Pestilence changed to give a 5 sec buff that increases damage and condition damage by 2% when a condition is applied to you. Stacks 5 times for a total of 10%
• Bolstered anguish changed to increase condition durations by 10%
• Replenishing despair base healing applied increased by 100%
• Rejuvenating assault now sends out a healing aoe pulse instead of creating orbs
• Tranquil benediction changed to speed of the Centaur. While wielding a staff your movement speed is increased 25% when you have swiftness or super speed you take 10% less damage
• Grasping shadow now shadow steps through the mist to your foe and pulls them back to their current location 600 distance
• Precision strike changed to a leap skill (warriors sword 3 skill animation) knocks down foe for 1 second if it lands a critical hit, also inflicts 2 seconds of chill on hit. Energy cost increased to 10 cool down increased to 7 seconds does base damage 755
• Charged mists trait now grants might on legend swap. Might stacks increased to 5 stacks for 12 seconds

So, one of top classes and you suggest to buff it while other gets only nerfs? Get real, mate.

Thief
• Vault now costs 6 initiative to use and its damage is reduced by 10%
• Impacting disruption removed and replaced with Risk Taker. When you have less than 1 bar of endurance you gain 150 ferocity.
• Lead attacks reduced to 10 stacks

Any nerfs are welcomed for this class.

Warrior
• Mending changed to Banner of mending. Summons a banner that heals allies in the radius and removes a condition every 5 seconds. Base heal 350 effects up to 5 allies. 120 cooldown 90 duration.
• Cleansing ire given an internal cooldown of 2 seconds on the adrenaline gain
• Adrenaline health duration reduced to 10 seconds
• Distracting strikes and burst precision traits swapped round
• Defy pain changed to take 10% less damage when below 50% health
• “For great justice” cooldown reduced to 20 seconds
• “On my mark” now grants 5 seconds of vigor and stability to allies
• “Fear me” reduced cool down to 45 seconds
• Skull grinder. Removed blind, cripple and confusion. Doubled the bleeding stacks

Meh. Some petty buffs. It would make Discipline into essential trait line just like Defense. Way to go for less build diversity.


Your suggestions will pretty much kill the game or make every ranked game 5 revenants vs 5 revenants. Every other class would be viewed as trolls and that would be true.

Please nerf Mesmer, Necro and Warrior (and all other), so Viable Vanilla build could be something again.
