Map voting is pointless.
First, i know – we all hate the spirittrolhamyard trio. But theres strong points you should keep in mind:
a) its unranked only. Its meant to go there with a “testing” build and sometimes you just gotta hold it through. Courtyard is also a fast match, the que wait is more long and boring.
b) Its actualy pure and best democracy this way. With just a boring majority wins everytime, we would have 100% legacy games even when it was a very close 4/6 vote on like forest vs legacy.
Skyham actualy only gets 4% of votes considering 6 maps 16.6% is if they were equal.
You really do misunderstand. Map selects from voted results with votes count probability.
So if u have 9 votes for kilo and 1 for skyhammer, you get so with 10% chance
The Votes adjust the chances to get a map.
6 Votes Foefire=> 60% Foefire
3 Votes Niflhel => 30% Niflhel
1 Vote Kyhlo => 10% Kyhlo
So Kyhlo has a small chance but can win this selection.
I’ve said it before and this system is fairer.
4 votes Khylo
3 votes Foefire
3 votes Niflhel
In this scenario Khylo is the most voted for map, but 60% of the voters don’t want to play it. Just because 1 map has the most votes, doesn’t mean it’s the most wanted.

Perhaps the addition of a second choice option. Only one map can be voted on, per player, and additionally each player can opt to vote for a second choice. If one map receives less than 5 or 4 votes in total for first and second choice combined, it gets removed and the virtual dice rolls for the other two. That way, you -can- always have a map you voted on in the selection, there will still be fair probability value for each map because "first choice" will bear more weight than "second choice," and players have a way to indirectly vote for the exclusion of one map.

The current map system is the fairest. If majority picked map wins every time then the least popular maps will never get play. And that’s not fair to the minority that enjoy the those maps. Just imagine being in the other person’s shoes. At least the odds is heavily in your favor.
Now if we had templates, it would be easier switching from Deathmatch back to Conquest.
The pie chart obviously shows XXXXX winning, but the one with just a sliver end up being picked. How is this even a thing? Do I just completely misunderstand how map voting works or is this broken?
If it were a vote, then of course the winner would be the map with the most votes. But the interface doesn’t even use the word “vote”. And it’s not a vote.
It’s a lottery. Select a lottery ticket, drop it in the jar, and just hope that you (or someone like-minded) is lucky. And as in any lottery, sometimes the guy with the worst odds turns out to be the big winner.

No matter what happens I always end up in Foefire.
Map voting is pointless in ranked because all the maps are conquest with tiny differences
