Master of Manipulation + Mass Invisibility

ranger rapid fire follows you in stealth you didnt know
So that people have a chance of knocking you out of stealth >.> muahahahaha
The reflect is annoying but if you practice dodging when you cast a manipulation (or just waiting it out in cases of like Mimic→Decoy) the reflect won’t reveal you.
But yeah I agree the reflect is mostly useless… I have rekt some power rangers by blinking on top of them during rapid fire though :P

That is something that should not be happening.
Entering stealth should cancel any form of targeting. So a Rapid Fire would still fire, but it should stop following you automatically, the ranger should have to guess where you are moving and aim manually.
Directly targeted skills like Flamestrike and Spatial Surge must get canceled without interruption. So they can’t finish, because the caster can’t see you. They don’t know where you are- So the skill can’t finish.
This is one of the changes Stealth needs to become a tactical tool instead something you spam as much as possible.

Honestly reveal on auto reflect is a bad design, it’s not only about Master of Manipulation but Evasive Mirros works similar if you’re in stealth and someone is hitting u with a projectile.
In genera i like channel projectile skills can hit u in stealth a but a reflection + reveal is too much imho.

There’s already few enough reliable counters for stealth to remove another one. Using Pin down or Rapid Fire before the stealth are one of the few ways to actually counter Thieves and Mesmers that camp stealth. Stealth is already so strong that the current way of channeled skills following is a form of skill on it’s own. Maybe if all stealth had reduced duration across the board we could talk, but barring that the current system should stay.
In fact, i’m still annoyed that you don’t get instantly revealed if you get downed while stealth. There has been plenty of times where I have downed someone while in stealth but they can use their skill 3 to move just out of the way enough to give an ally enough time to reach them and revive them before I even get a chance to stomp them. So if we’re going to talk about mechanics being unfair, we should start there.

Yeah it can be annoying with evasive mirror if you try to dodge a projectile while stealthed.
And I agree MoM is strangely counterproductive with Mass Invis.
I think reflects should specifically be changed to not cause reveal.
Instead I would like to see (assuming it is possible and not too complicated to so) a new visual effect to deal with this situation – whenever you reflect a projectile from stealth you gain a temporary outline visible to all players for a fraction of a second with each reflected hit, but which vanishes as soon as the last attack is reflected either leaving you back in stealth if its duration is still going or back to normal with no reveal debuff.
The mental image is like ripples on water when throwing a stone across the surface.
This would allow counterplay for channeled skills and projectiles (you could try noscoping for fun to temporarily make the enemy visible).
In fact I’d like to see this kind of visual effect for any damage taken while in stealth. Reveal is a contrived mechanic that doesn’t feel natural apart from when used on certain skills (ie sic em or whatever). But as for reflect damage and taking damage, it would be nice to have a more subtle sci-fi style ripple in the cloak that provides a visual cue.
