I am usually quite defensive of the coding in place for various reasons. That said I have seen more and more players leave due to match making and I can’t fault them.

A serious review needs to be done against queuing and either force all players to be solo or move to equal number of pre-mades to be grouped together and warn of extra wait times.

That said, there also needs to be logic in place to prevent class stacking above 2. Some balance changes we have seen over time has been due to compounding benefits of classes when grouped together. By themselves they may not warrant a change but in a PvP environment of 5 people teams they have.

Food for thought.

solo que duo que pre mades are never the problem. You can not fix players skill levels. I have won against premades and lost against them too. Just like full solo que parties.

Ive posted screen shots of me playing seriously in ranked getting rocked and then winning 500-50 both ways.

I again post a screen shot of me solo queing goofing off with the PvP buffs going on. look at the scores and realize that teams are not the problem.

You can artifically inflate your mmr by only playing as part of a good premade. Doesnt necessarily make you a good soloqueue player, but the algo treats you like one.

Its debatable if you want to see premades as source of evil, or how mmr is calculated… but truth is, status quo makes for VERY inaccurate match calculations due to no separate rating for premade-queueing.

Btw, the reverse is true, too ! If you play with a guildteam that just plain sucks, you get punished for it hard, because your mmr will drop.

Class stacking is not the source of all evil btw, good players will either switch anyway, or they will be able to win with 5 thieves against 5 dh. Be happy you can at least switch. I remember RA in gw1 with 4 monks vs 4 warriors and no way out.

Preventing class stacking with the current queueing system will lock you into one profession you queue with, will lock you into playing certain builds and it will again decrease size of playerpool to choose from for matchmaking. Bad idea.

I believe there is something going on within the algorithm’s match making that they aren’t discussing with us. Patch notes and Dev responses state that the algorithm should be working in a very specific way but there are times “multiple matches in a row, days in a row, weeks in a row” that the MMR algorithm is clearly not doing what they say it should be doing. I also notice it doing things that they’ve said it won’t do but it is doing.

Long story short ~ Go read up on the match making and learn it well each season. Start paying attention to the patterns of your match making as well as other player’s match making during seasons. You’ll notice a lot of patterns going on that don’t make any sense and that are indeed a contradiction to the algorithm’s function. No matter how you look at these patterns “let’s say the guy who gets a 20+ lose streak or win streak”, it is an absolute mathematical anomaly that so many people would be experiencing situations like this despite a supposed match making algorithm in play.

Have any of you ever really sat down and thought about the chances that a single solo que player would have to win or lose 20+ games in a row, if the match making actually works the way that it says it does? Have you ever considered the chances that it would happen to 1 out of 5 players regularly every day like a schedule? And don’t tell me the usual cop-out excuse of: “It’s just MMR settling” because that in no way explains this anomaly of win lose streaking that happens so frequently to all of us.

It’s a very good question that the community needs to stop over looking and start asking.
