Since the addition of the Daily Class, a lot of people just played classes they don’t know so they can get the daily. That puts a lot of pressure on the matchmaking system, since the MMR is barely accurate. In addition, the number of people playing a class during a time is also significantly inflated, and that leads to a lot of classes stacking. For example, we see matches with 3-4 thieves on a team on a “thief day”.

How should we fix that daily?

I agree 100%. Class stacking is bad enough without the daily. I can only imagine a ranger and engineer day… shudders

Yes please remove Daily Classes! With such a huge influx of players playing the same class on the same day class stacking has become more common than ever. This does nothing but hurt PvP for everyone.

It’s not hard to see why Daily Class is bad for pvp since it increases class stacking. However, I don’t think we can convince ANet to remove the Daily Classes.

Is there any other way we can solve it? Start a riot and demand something to be removed should be the last resort.

I think there’s 2 classes per day, right? They could try 4 classes per day, that might help a little.

I’m not a huge fan of the class specific daily, but I’ll admit I have tried to some new classes. I have a new respect for thieves because of it. With that said, I would really like it removed.

Inducing people to try a new class for a day, but using their main class MMR as their skill indicator for the matcher…will cause uneven matches for sure.

I mentioned this on day of patch and it got moved to general discussion. Hope this stays here, because on the first day of the patch I got to know what it feels like to go against a team of 4 guards and 1 necro in deathmatch. Don’t think that’s what they had in mind for balance either.

Which is why the previous PvP dailies were just better than these. Sure there weren’t as many, but you could just play the way you wanted to instead of figuring which alt you were going to dust off and suck at for today.

That’s your opinion, but the rewards for daily profession is actually quite good, and it gets you out of your comfort zone. It’s true that you see too much class stacking in unranked as a result. I would be in favor of a “win on 3 professions” daily reward.

That is a much better situation.

Daily class works in Hearthstone because it’s random and it’s a two player game, so it doesn’t disrupt team balance (which is core to the design of spvp).

Daily class in GW2 doesn’t work because it encourages players to prioritise personal rewards over a balanced team. Some players will run three thief teams as a result (all choosing to do their daily over “take one for the team”) other players will begrudgingly sacrifice personal rewards for the sake of the team and run something else. In both of these situations, the game has designed scenarios where either players are ending up with bad team comps due to the daily, or players are being asked to turn down rewards because of the daily.

I like the idea of encouraging players to branch out from the classes they main, but this is the wrong way to do it.

A good solution might be adding more options for the daily (get x stomps, kill a ranger, etc) and make them random per person. You’d get less of the win as a specific class dailies and they would be different for everyone who gets them.

Just make the classes random for everyone. That would be the easiest and most efficient change.

‘Get x stomps’, ‘kill a ranger’ would just add more problems because people will play towards that goal.

In huge favor of either proposed options:

- Daily Win Variety: Win with 2(3) different classes
- Random daily [class] winner, that requires a different class for everyone.

or replacements:

- Daily Wins: 3
- Daily Matches: 3(5)

Yes, I tried out classes i seldomly use in sPvP since patch. Yes, I think it was a nice move to make the players do so. Yes, I even learned a few things about those classes a long the way.

But still, having to go with/against thieves’n’engis or mesmers’n’eles all day long is not what I thought you wanted to achieve by improving the match making process.

There are reasons I don’t play ele a lot. I’m terrible at it. I know, I know. The new system encourages me to practise, improve and some day get the daily ele win with ease. But I would have done this anyway sooner or later for the AP’s/Title.
The problem is the new daily system going aganist the"play the way you like" mentality I enjoyed so far and this is where it hits sPvP.

Please change it ANet, after all, it’s christmas… O.O

TWO LOSSES TODAY because of this crap.

One Ranger literally sitting in our base, AFK. Claims he’s “opening my daily chest lol.”

Team asks him why he doesn’t go to hot join, he says “ranked is faster.”

Honestly guys? Because of this achievement crap one person can literally ruin it for 9. Please take it out, period.
