Matchmaking
Hotjoin matches don’t have much in the way of matchaking, although they will attempt to throw you into a match with some similarly-ranked opponents when you click join. Of course, anyone can join your match regardless of their rank after that, so it doesn’t end up doing much good.
Even if you’re just beginning, I’d recommend doing some solo arena matches. Those use an actual matchmaking system based on your wins and losses. The first few will be random until the matchmaker is able to give you a rating. After that, you should start seeing some good matches, in theory anyway. The other players may have a higher or lower PvP rank than you, but everyone should have a similar “rating” based on your wins and losses.
@ Shadowraid- are you playing tournament Pvp or hot join?
Hot join is what it is. However PvP the matchmaking is not very good either in my opinion. I get group with a ton of low ranked team members. Last night I was on a team where I was 38 and everyone else was under rank 10. sucks for me cause I have to usually explain that it doesn’t take 3 people to cap a point or that hold points is key to winning. Last night the match I was in I scored 230 points. Capped 11 points and killed 10 or so foes. All the other members of my team where under 100 points. I also ended up in 2 matches where the whole team where thief’s. Honestly I don’t see the balance in match making at all. Below are two examples of what I would fix.
1. Even out the classes in each match. ( all the thief’s shouldn’t be on the same team if the other team has everything other then Thief.
2. make a cap so tournament play can’t be played till glory level 10 or 15. I hate being grouped with a bunch of sub level 10’.
good luck and keep up the grind! Its got to get better some day!

I understand and i don’t see balance either but the capping thing. I’m the kind of person that says have 2-3 people on a point not to cap it but for protection. It’s all teamwork and if you’re someone like a light armor and the only on the point and 4 people from the other team coming at you you’d be wishing you had other teammates there to help.
i love this game, but pvp…. oh man
make matchmaking system
team arena should be old format 8 teams 3 matches to the first place- reward in chest and points- no gems

That system was just a crutch because the game didn’t launch with any matchmaking at all for tournaments. It was a way of taking the first 8 teams that signed up and tossing them together so that at least the final round would be even for good teams most of the time, and the first round had a decent chance of being even for inexperienced teams.
Seriously, PvP has come a long way. The game launched before some core PvP features had been developed yet, and it’s come so far since then that we shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking things were better the way they were before.
