There should never be three of any one class in a match on one single team, just got out of a match where there were three eles still there doing the whole might stacking thing, they all ran together. You say Matchmaking was fixed but this just proves it was not.

Not too sure if matchmaking takes into account the classes in a team, but you could always switch or ask your team to switch classes before a match.

There were threads about how the matchmaking algos don’t filter out class when assembling teams. That’s why it’s important that teammates take the initiative to swap out if needed to improve comp. Unfortunately, a good majority do not.

Getting a response when communicating with your (pug) teammates is difficult. What more if you ask them to swap. That’s why I don’t even bother asking but always thank them when they do swap.

If there was build template I would swap more often. But I have a very slow map loading, so I usually arrive on the match about 10s before it starts, hardly time to switch build.

Restricting by classes does not make sense in gw2. A burn guardian is not a bunker guardian, a power necro is not a cele necro nor a MM necro… You could have a full guardian team and still do fine if the builds were chosen accordingly. This includes maybe going away from the meta to fill a role that is missing in your team. Usually a build is not meta because another class can do it better, but that does not mean this build is bad.

Now some classes just don’t work that well, for example thief, because they currently don’t have the necessary build diversity to play different roles. For example, the bunker thief… does not quite work yet (maybe daredevil will end up fixing that?). But I would prefer the balance team to fix that instead of trying to make an algorithm to restrict classes in the matchmaking.

Build templates would be nice. I’d pay gems for those. I literally have 2 slots for every class except thief and 3 character slots for engie.

A simple build template will eliminate the need to have all those extra character slots for pvp. If you think about it, it’s good business for anet to not have templates coz you’re forced to buy character slots. LOL. But if they offered templates, I’d buy those too for this alt acct.

I think ANET turned off matchmaking. The matches feel random at least.
