STUPIDITY IS! Matchmaking is based on equal skill from what I understand. Unfortunately it doesn’t factor in stupidity.

Started S3 with a win and 2 consecutive losses. The win was fun and close, I’d say equally matched. The losses were a joke. Stupidity reigned supreme.

Loss#1 * Playing warrior
During the match I See a teammate out numbered at mid (we had mid at the time) and I go to help. We win the fight but I’m downed just as we win. My teammate leaves me in downed state and heads to another point of the map. Just as I’m about to get up, an opponent shows up and stomps me (we lost mid). Not long after I’m heading far and get cutoff by 2 opponents (engi & thief). We’re going at it and a different teammate runs right past me to far point. I’m killed shortly after. Then my teammate decides to put in team chat that fighting off point is stupid. Normally I would agree, however we don’t always have a choice. As a warrior we don’t have very good disengage, skills may be on cooldown, etc….

Loss#2
After an epic fight to win mid at start of match we throw the game away. During the match we lose close/ home , or whatever you may call it. Trying to retake close after a few failed attempts I realize we are 3 v 5 because 2 teammates are standing on mid doing nothing. The other team camped close and our spawn for the win.

Matchmaking may not be the problem but it is teaming us up with those people that have no business playing ranked pvp. I’m on my 8th loss in a row, last match 3 guys on my team decided to camp home the whole round, just cause.

Agreed. I think the best way to fix the “people problem” is to raise the minimum rank requirement. It’s rank 20 to play ranked and I think it should be bumped to at least 50 or 60. I’m only 47 myself and would be okay if I had to work my way up to play ranked even if they made it 70 or 80. If Anet decided to make people “earn” the right to play ranked the spvp environment would be a better place.

So there is no hope….unranked is actually fun. I’ll stick with that moving forward because I don’t really care about the back piece.
