Matchmaking working as intended. . . .
The MM system had been implemented to grant to solo players the chance to play sPvP. But basicly this game is made for premades, because is a Team based game.
Then the MM have to make players play. When there’s not enough players of a specified level the MM chose players of lower lvl to make the game start.
The only way to grant a good game to everyone is stop the MM system and improve the party finder system, forcing players to use that already existing system to find parties of they’re levels and play with them.
Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 are built around the individual “hero” and henchies.
It’s true that the current pvp mode requires some team work. You could get similar results by forcing everyone to solo queue, so that every game was pug v pug. That would be a better test of individual player skill in my eyes. Teams can carry people and make them look better than they are.
I notice how much nicer the atmosphere is in my home and in HoTM with the matchmaker striving for fair matches.
True, it removes the “fun” of being near god-mode and being fed teams that are of very much lower skill to stomp on. I’m certain that for some people, such games make them feel “skilled.”
Forcing a game mode designed to be played by organized teams to solo is a horrible decision, the PvP aspect of both Gw1 and Gw2 has been team oriented not based on the individual player, that is only true for PvE content to some extent mainly for story purposes. If you want a solo experience ask for 1v1,2v2 and 3v3 arenas. Those high light individual skill. There is no reason to force 5 mans conquest which has always been designed and balanced around organized composition, into a pug fest
you were suppose to lose that game
They have moved back to the 50/50 system from season 1
Matchmaking is as bad, as it ever has been..
In this case both teams had seemingly the same experience + 1 duoqueue.
It should have ben a fair matchup.
Both teamcomps were not perfect, but the result left me just speechless.
(They were not afk, they tried)
Decided to take a break from spvp.

Why are all teams called Cold Foamers? It’s like every single game. They need to increase the name pool. That’s what’s wrong with PvP, kittening Cold Foamers.

Yes there will be some bad matches, I’ve had a couple. The point is that they are fairly rare now and not the norm.
