May we please have group and guild spvp
12v12 GvG, hopefully CTF, maybe some of the current game types, would be a total blast.
I don’t think it needs to be a tournament setting for guild pvp, as a lot of organized teams are probably going to be guildies, with the exception of a few last minute pug players (which are still usually pretty experienced)
I agree wholeheartedly with this post…. GW1 kept me playing for 7 years because of the PvP. GvG, Random Arenas, Team Arenas, Alliance Battles, Competitive Missions, Heroes’ Ascent…. the myriad of game types and options were just everything I could ask for from pvp. There was space for every player to thrive, at least when GW was in its prime.
I agree most with bringing back old school GW1 pvp but not exclusively. GW2 pvp has a nice feel, I enjoy it, it’s very user friendly, very easy to get started. Bit of a challenge to get seriously into. With some inclusion of GW1 style pvp, it’d be the perfect addition to GW2’s current systems that a lot of players are asking for, but without ruining it for the players that enjoy this current type of PvP.

GW 2 devs – I know that as a manager and past business owner for every one person you hear from on a subject, there are 10 who don’t speak.
I hadn’t seen the spvp update – I saw it tonight as I searched for some help for my Ranger (ahem) and found the message that spvp will be changing, but I am still hoping for a transfer of the GW1 to GW2 spvp – as an adjunct and a capture the flag as well as the planned 1v1 – which will be a great day for those of us who don’t have any “real” human friends to play “with”.

Nothing touches it, we just want spvp to be better so we will stay another 7+ years here… and not elsewhere when some innovative programmer dangles pvp in our faces again…
We know that it’s a lot of work coding and making sure betas are relatively smooth – please just remember that pvp is a large part of what keeps many people in any game for the long haul.
I would really love to see the exact copy of HA (Heroe’s Ascent, a kind of tournament with different game modes/maps) 8vs8
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of a night, sweaty, horrified and shivering… And I wonder why in Dwayna’s name they reinvented PvP for GW2.
PvP in GW1 made it the best game I have EVER played. I seriously almost cried when I found out that devs left out:
4vs4 Random Arena (Deathmatch, hotjoin, penalty by rage quitting)
4vs4 Team Arena (Deatchmatch with premades)
8vs8 GvG (CTF)
8v8 Heroe’s Ascent This was amazing.
