[Mesm OP] Blind on shatter needs to go
I actually think this a great trait, especially because it creatively addresses the age-old problem of “thief hardcounters mesmers,” but with a high skill-cap.
The real problem is that some of the other traits are a little over-budget, such as PU, power block, and shatter improvement traits that just push the damage a little too-high.
Nah. It’s a great trait simply for the fact that it opens up build diversity. It allows for a defensive option in place of other defensive options. Stick with removing the hits through evade thing and you’ll be golden.

Yeah the bug of it going through evade is so annoying. Otherwise it’s fine.

It’s a good trait, and you don’t see every mesmer running it → more build diversity. Maybe the duration could be reduced just a little bit to make it more skillful, but overall I find it rather balanced.

I disagree on the ICD for Confounding Suggestion. I’d say, instead of putting an increased ICD, make it more skill based. I prefer the solution that stun only is applied, when the daze interrupted the target, similar to Chaoric Interruption, but with actual more requirements for the intended effect (not only interrupt, but daze+interrupt).

Mesmer has already been stripped down hard. Removing blind on shatter would make PU condi and interrupt the two useful builds. Imagine the volume of the cries of “OP” if most Mesmers were running PU.
Realistically Mesmer finally has a survival chance. Thieves have an un-aimed blind and invisibility readily available. Blind on shatter is actually harder to use than pistol 5.

There is no need whatsoever to hit Mesmer again. If thief aoe blinds aren’t op, then neither are Mesmer blinds that are harder to produce.
I think this is basically sour grapes because people are surprised to lose to a Mesmer.

People should stop describing it as a bug when it goes through evades, they copy/pasted the code for Guardian blind on Virtue of Justice. Its working as intended.
I don’t think that it should work this way though. Be aware though that asking for this to change because you see it as a “bug” may be futile. Its not a bug, ask for it to change because its bad design.
Also another fun fact – the reason Powerblock hit so much harder than Halting at the start is because they copy/pasted LRod from ele to get the Weakness but forgot to change the damage numbers xD

Hold on, mesmer and ele and other classes can’t all be op. The term for op is over powered meaning they stand above all other classes. This seems to be a paradox.

Calling for nerfs won’t fix much at this point. If you nerf mesmer you will have to nerf ele. then gurdian and mm necro. And once they are all nerfed you will have to nerf all the other currently op classes.

You understand thief need to use blind yet don’t understand mesmer doing the same thing? Thieves also have access to: blind, stealth spam, evade spam (similar to distortion), interrupts and teleports…

Pseudo AoE Blind – Pistol 5, (D/P 3 is excellent single target blind though).
Lower hp – slightly higher base armour, negligible though as both get blown up if sneezed on.
Stealth and attack – Allowed continued backstab if it gets evaded/blocked/blinded as it doesn’t reveal the thief.
Low range – agreed
CC – Panic Strike, Pistol 4 daze, Steal, Stolen skills, Basilisk Venom.
Damage – Very comparable, there have been screenshots of people doing 9-10k backstabs recently.
*With the exception of evade spam, all the others can be achieved within the same D/P build. Shortbow 3 can act as an evade spam though.

Not comparable to thief really mesmer will do it in AoE format and s/d “evade spam” is way easier to deal with more telegraphed as well just like SB and doesn’t do as much damage. You can’t compare Panick Strike thief to lockdown mesmer it’s slower,single target burst,Head Shot has low damage and can’t be casted during other skills,uses vamp runes mesmer just go more with more burst,SA got toned down etc,doesn’t use clones,is more utility focus,stealth can get interrupted,backstab is melee.

this is by far the best update ever I just wanted to say that….about mesmers: yes they need terranerfs hardcore nerfs 10 sec stealth into 20k spammable bursts need to end for a class with soooooo much utility with all the utilty a mesmer has (and everything else) they need to deal significantly LESS damage…their bursts truly can be nerfed by 50%….20k now even on reasonably high armor….if that would be 10k it would still be insane…..full blown nerfs on mesmer rest is fine imo even ele yes, everyone got buffed yes I know…but mesmer is buffed by a whopping 500% compared to others…superb in teamfights and absolutely unrivalled in 1v1…this needs to end, they have no counters seen many and played good pvp matches watched ALOT of top players duel mesmer on all sorts of classes in obsi sanctum as well….mesmer is absolute god tier compared every other class….all of them. blinds clones evades that don’t work on mesmer teleports stealth invulns with burst if desired it’s way way to much…anyone who is fair and knows pvp well will have to admit this denying or whatever is just nonsense seriously hardcore nerfs, rest is cool I think rest is quite balanced in fact

the traits they can keep they’re awesome class must stay unique…damage however needs be toned down trmendously at such range and spammabilty with hardly any set up required…don’t pretend the setup of mesmer is hard pls…for it’s not absolutely not!

Lol if you had been fighting a good shatter mes like Night, you wouldn’t have even had the duel last that long. I said it once and I’ll say it again. Griping about PU is conquest is only gonna make the arkitten mesmers that use that stupid trait, think they are actually so good they deserve to be complained about.
Make blind on shatter grandmaster and swap it with confusion on interrupt. This will force the mesmer to choose between personal defense (blind), utility (mantra) or dps (clone on dodge).

So then you couldnt get blind confusion and dodge clone hence neutering the condi shatter build.
The blind on shatter works with the Confusion on blind trait. You need both plus dodge clone to make a condi shatter build that gets double stacks of confusion like condi shatter has always been.

I like that someone said to nerf mesmer damage by 50%. Just imagine if they actually did that. The class would literally be useless. The forums would decry this stupid balancing decision. People would be floored as to how the dev’s could make such a huge and drastic sweeping nerf to a single class.

The trait is fine.
The blind going through dodges and invulnerability however is not and is clearly a bug.
Trait is fine it just makes shattering a little safer which was needed for years, and evens up the thief matchup.

I disagree, as this kind of play makes it pretty much the same as CI, just… worse. Essentially, it is neither unique nor very good if it becomes on-interrupt.
The ICD does two things: it prevents the synergy with MoD where every mantra charge is essentially a stun and then it buffs certain synergy with AoE dazes, meaning we can stun more people while the individual target spends less time stunned. Perfect fix and compensation, in my opinion.

:D if PU mesmers are so OP why Helseth supcutie and other top tier mesmers are not playing it? Its OP only in solo queues vs bad players…..I must admit its easiest and most rewarding mesmers build tho…..
It allows Mesmer to sort of persist at melee on point instead of being relegated to double ranged kiting, so I’d quite like for it to stay thanks.

Easiest is subjective its easiest against warriors or bunkers and generally really bad players
however… against good players its another story.
Necromancers and dd eles are a uphill battle doable but defently not easy.
