You need to stop adding numbers to this weapon, what it needs is smoother animations. Reduced wind up for 3 and faster counter attack for 2. Unfortunately you’ve now created something which can stack 5 Confusion for 11secs from range so the instant you do address the real problems with the weapon you’ll have a monster.

It won’t be viable in the fast paced game we have if you don’t address the fundamentals of the weapon.

They are really good at doing this kind of stuff. Buffing something again and again at the wrong spots, then finally giving it the one buff that it needed and suddenly all the small buffs it got before matter and it ends up being OP. Best example is probably D/D ele finally getting celestial after they buffed all kinds of small stuff like burning speed, frozen burst and cleansing water.

I hope they will finally start thinking about what a class/weapon/trait actually needs before they just mindlessly buff stuff that seems underwhelming.

I very much agree. Really would be nice for Mesmer Scepter to be brought up to date with the rest of the game. Confusing Images in particular is just so clunky, it’s a bit ridiculous. The auto-attack really needs an after cast reduction too.

Reduce damage numbers as applicable if needed, just make it more fun to use!

I kinda agree. The wind up on the 3 and the way it’s so finicky with positioning is the problem with scepter. It feels like it’s a 30degree cone that it actually works in.

It needs to have the condition on auto removed as this was a very stupid change that’ll fast lead to an arms race just kitten many other changes have done before. Actually very defensive bunker/1v1 Mesmers were possible to handle with meta setups given careful and smart play — scepter represented “downtime” where you could press the offense against the Mesmer. Now it is basically just heavy pressure all the time and you get more autopilot build wars type play to compensate as a result. Fantastic!

By the way I also agree that the counter spells for Mesmer weapons need much faster animations. Scepter #2 and Sword #4 are so telegraphed it’s obscene. Might as well have a clone pop out a wedding cake.
