Mesmer nerf reaction
I’m not a huge fan of condi clone death either. I’ve been playing it as condi shatter. The truth of it is though… it’s one of the few builds that actually works well without having years of experience in Mesmer.
They mentioned in the stream that they want to push mesmer into more of a high skill level profession. So no more passive clone death.
I guess the new easier way to mesmer will be condie shatter. If you really want to benefit from the buffs, you kinda have to go into the interrupt regime now.
That’s my point, shatter works very poorly in it’s present state. This is why condi clone death has come to the fore. Sure.. a few highly skilled gamers think shatter is fine and are a vocal minority. The truth is, shatter sux in a real game. The clones are too delicate and the aim is a “maybe” at best.

While introducing crazy passive triats (Confusion on crit says hi, burn burn burn burn burn guards say hi, fire auras ((oh god why)) on eles say hi).
Anyways, mesmer got buffed tons. Along with thief probably the most, you should be happy you didn’t get nerfed as ele or basically nothing as necro.

Stop with the ele got nerfed complaints. They didn’t.
Neither did Mesmer or any other class. Maybe your favorite spec got nerfed. That is fine. Try something different. There will be a spec that is much stronger than what you play now.
honestly i give zero kittens about any of the cheese builds being played right now. or about what build YOU are playing. this game needs a complete pvp reset. old builds will die, new ones will emerge.
also remember that you’ll be able to pick max out 3 lines and have 3 GM’s.
Yeah, people worrying about it moving to GM seem to be forgetting that if you pick the specialization at all you will be going to the end, so its not like you’re losing all that much, you just take it in a different spot…

I have more than 10k pvp match on my Mesmer.
I tried all kinds of build. Even if most of people don’t admit it, the most viable pvp build is really clone death. Hated for being easy. But, the concept built around the Mesmer was more based on Illusion death than shattering.
The position of some traits was just senseless. This is not a nerf, it is a clean play.
The biggest issue was Illusionary Persona, they understood that it’s needed to be a baseline.
From there, you don’t even need to skill deceptive evasion, which was in fact one of the worst trait. It allowed the enemy to follow the Mesmer.
But playing a Mesmer without I.P forced you to use D.E. Mesmer Damage was somehow Weak.
From the point of view that you could only burst light armored, berserk player. Meeting true team with people playing with some toughness and intelligence, you were not competitiv enough. With those change even shatter can now be used as defense and offense. This is not a nerf, they buffed the Mesmer in every way, and gave him now all viable build as possible.
You just need to know how and when to shatter.
Isn’t this the third (at least) o these thread started by this person they probably need merged as there is nothing new here.

Spec getting nerfed does in fact mean that your class got a nerf :/
Dude, please give it a rest already.
Clone death wasn’t how anet intended the Mesmer class being played. I’m sure they didn’t expect a handful of mesmers to base there entire build and playstyle around the traits that it seems were an after thought of anets.
Condi clone death wasn’t a fun build to fight against, nor was it the type of balanced build that rewards skilled play. The only reason it existed as long as it did was because slow attrition based builds that camped in stealth the couldn’t kill fast or hold a point at all and offers 0 team support clearly isn’t going to be an issue in conquest, however if anet are going to explore other pvp game modes, the build needed to be hit hard.
Anyone who has a real understanding of Mesmer can see we are receiving a huge plethora of buffs, in the areas that we really needed them too, and that’s before I even start on how kitten the Chronomancer is looking!
Have you considered perhaps re-rolling to a MM?

Lets hope that ANet takes the same stance to other professions and remove similar “passive gameplay” mechanics.

Mesmers will be MUCH stronger after the release of the new system. Either adapt or play a different class. ALL classes evolve over time.

I doubt it. Mesmer is intended to be a profession played by skilled players. You have to let rangers, warriors and guardians be easy, otherwise what would beginners play?

You make some decent points but really those kind of clone death condition builds were always garbage except anything but potted plants. That’s what WvWvW is filled with and thats another place chock fill of this type of build. Sadly that’s what pvp is filled with now too for the most part. It is easy though but still bad and ineffective against good players. It’s demise is cause for celebration. Anybody that thinks they were good playing it Im here to tell you weren’t.

Alout of people played the build poorly from what I’ve experienced. However that doesn’t deem the build not viable, positioning of your clones is crucial which is why main hand sword is a must because your clones run towards the target rather than sit there like beacons which makes it harder for your damage to actually land. The only reason why it was viable to begin with was because it took advantage of the over abundance of cleave in the game currently, not to mention you being able to destroy them through dodging at max clones.
The build is capable of beating top players if played correctly, so I’m sorry but you are mistaken on that front “sorry not sorry”. The deletion of clone death doesn’t really bother me however, since it seems that condi shatter is getting quite the buff, so well just have to wait and see how it unfolds.

Another topic about the same thing Ithilwen? Again OP deleted.
Adapt or don’t, it will not change from the direction it’s going.
Condi clone death was the worst Conquest build, ever. End of.
Mods should delete the whole thread since OP deleted and this is like third-fifth thread on the same topic that the same person created.
